    in Music

Lots to talk about this week. The Dems in the Senate are fed up with the Fillibuster and are about to change the rules, this is a double edged sword.

Iran has rolled over on the subject of atomic bombs, or have they?

George Zimmerman has yet another close encounter with the law (what a surprise).

Obamacare is still mired in problems.

SAR-Rand Paul Filibuster/Rape Victim Lectured by CO Sen.

    in Politics Conservative

Sen. Rand Paul R-Kentucky showed the kind of backbone this Wednesday that has long been absent from Republicans.  He filibustered in the senate effectively, if only temporally, blocking the confirmation of CIA nominee John Brennan.  The filibuster focused on the Obama administration's failure to clearly state that they won't use armed drones to target Americans on American soil?  He recieved bipartisan support and we'll talk about it at length.
Also:  Shocking audio from a Colorado Senator as she lectures a rape victim.
Plus, just who ordered the release of all of those illegal aliens?  No one really seems to know.
And: An Everett, Washington School Official Forced a student to log into their personal facbook page.  Why? You'll be shocked to hear the unconstitutional answer.
Kimberly heads out to Bike Week in Daytona!  We'll ask her about her plans.

Obama Offers to Cut Social Security, Medicare

    in Politics Progressive

Obama Offers to Cut Social Security, Medicare and Popular Programs (Again)? Reid calls Ryan budget more extreme than 'propaganda' of past POTUS, please don't cave!  Sen. Sanders will only fillibuster any compromise on Social Security, Medicare, Food Stamps....
The "other half" of the grandbargain happened BEFORE the tax increase part.  After $1.3 trillion in spending cuts in 2011, the Republicans finally allowed $600B in tax increases and promptly forgot about the spending cuts and are now insisting on more spending cuts because they gave the Democrats fewer tax cuts than they asked for. The Democrats appear to be willing to sell out the American people in order to placate the Republicans, but that is not what I voted for.  Why is it that those who lost the elections are still the ones calling the shots? I don't believe that what we are seeing in our country now is what the Founders had in mind when they set up the political system.

Gun buying explosion. Tea Party collapse. Dave Johnson

    in Politics

A recent Rassmussen Poll found that only 8% of Americans now identify with the Tea Party, dcown from a high of 30% in 2010.  Is this the beginning of the end of the Tea Party, a new beginning for the Republican Party, or both? Gun and ammo sales are exploding.  Is America short on guns, or is the NRA and the gun industry pushing the "Obama will take your guns away" fear to stoke sales? Can we fix the SEnate? Dave Johnson joins us after talking with his sources in Washiington on the prospects for ending the filibuster. Fairness Radio is a daily one-hour on-line and on-air radio show featuring liberal Patrick O'Heffernan interviewing national guests from across the political spectrum.  Patrick talks with everyone from conservative Senator Jim DeMint to former Democratic Party Chairman Governor Howard Dean to explore news, politics and culture from all sides in a civil conversation that focuses on idea, not gotcha’s.  With an international team experts from all sides of the political spectrum Fairness Radio covers the events of the world like no one else.

Dirty Harry & Tyranny in the U.S. Senate

    in Politics Conservative

Brian Darling, Senior Fellow for Government Studies at the Heritage Foundation, shares “The REALLY, Real, Deal with Brother Craig the Hatchet Man” about “Tryanny in the U.S. Senate”, a recently released white paper exposing Senator Harry Reid’s abusive restriction of senatorial debate.  The Senate body’s long history has traditionally allowed all Senators to participate by extending debate and offering unlimited numbers of amendments.  Although the Founders envisioned the Senate as a slow and deliberative legislative body, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has regularly used a procedural tactic called “filling the amendment tree” to restrict Senators’ right to debate and offer amendments.  While previous Majority Leaders have occasionally used this tactic, Senator Reid uses it quite often; more than all of his predecessors combined.  According to Brian Darling’s report, this tactic, combined with another parliamentary maneuver and demonization of the filibuster, threatens to squelch dissent in the Senate and further constrict the national debate on important political issues.  Listen in to learn how the Senate can better serve the American people and how Harry’s use of this tactic can end.  To review the white paper, “Tyranny in the United States Senate” go to http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2012/06/tyranny-in-the-united-states-senate?query=Tyranny+in+the+United+States+Senate.
