LatinoTalk Texas 2015, 0008 Immigration, Cuba & More Latino issues

    in Politics

Today's show including important essays by Leslie Sanchez, Alex Gonzalez and Alex Nowrasteh. Each has in depth analysis of the immigration debate and the political motivations behind it. Alex Gonzalez effectively defeats the "Secure the Border First with a fence!" policy of the anti-immigration bigots. Then Leslie Sanchez opines about the motivation behind Obama's executive action to reduce the horrendous hardships he had already cost many millions of Latinos in America. Why would he do that? Sanchez suspects it may be because some GOP types like Greg Abbott in Texas did rather well among Latinos in heavily Latino districts. Thus, her conclusion is that Obama and the Democrats may be in trouble with Latinos. Latinos Ready To Vote. I have my doubts about that but it is true that it appears some few Republicans did fairly well among some Latino sectors, most likely because the Democrat candidate was so liberal and radical that traditionally Democrat voting Latinos simply stayed home. Later, author David Whitehead Jr. called in to discuss Hispanic outreach among Republicans and he admits the existence of anti-Latino bias among Tea party types. I discuss how the evil Tanton Network, a radical environmentalist and white supremacist organization has injected their anti-immigration policies into the Republican Party via the Tea Parties. We didn't get to discuss the changes in policy concerning Cuba.

Walter Dominguez is a Southern California born and raised Latino documentary filmmaker.

Walter wrote, directed and produced his new independently made documentary feature film, Weaving the Past: Journey of Discovery, which follows Walter’s twelve year search to find his grandfather Emilio’s roots in 19th century Mexico and early 20th century Los Angeles.

His quest reveals Emilio’s deep friendship with one of Mexico’s great revolutionary heroes, Práxedis G. Guerrero, and their courageous and idealistic struggle to free Mexico of its oppressive dictator, Porfirio Díaz.

Forum to discuss "The Latino Political House is Divided

    in Business

Leaders of La Coordinadora 2014 (The National Coordinating Committee for Fair and Humane Immigration Reform) claim that the Latino electorate is divided due to the Democratic Party's desperate gamble to protect control of the Senate, and pressured Obama’s delay of his promised “executive action on immigrants by the end of summer”.

In a controversial declaration published on September 23, 2014 by the National Institute for Latino Policy, they declare on behalf of La Coordinadora 2014, that:
“Dolores Huerta is only the latest to try and pull Obama's chestnuts out of the fire with her recent quote from a VOXXI.com interview (http://voxxi.com/2014/09/24/latino-leaders-wrong-obama-immigration/ ]http://voxxi.com/2014/09/24/latino-leaders-wrong-obama-immigration/), "We have to look at the big picture and don't get caught up in saying we want it now." "...we are a community that can wait."  And, "we have to have faith in our president..."  How ironic that she expresses no anger at the 70,000 to 100,000 more deportations Obama's delay will provoke.  Multi-millionaire Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of HUD under President Clinton, has repeatedly railed against immigrant advocates for demanding of the president "not one more deportation."  Disgraced and separated vice president of the Service Employees International Union, Eliseo Medina, has probably been the most protective of Obama at every turn.  And, Cecilia Muñoz, Director of Domestic Policy Council, and Assistant to President Obama, has been the White House's pit-bull in silencing critics of the deportation machine.”
