But when certain events trigger our primitive brain, calm restraint can be nearly or actually impossible to achieve normally. With Hirschel’s special techniques and keen insight to this primitive reaction, an officer can approach conflict in a way that is far safer for everyone. Pitch exercise: A Green Lantern Movie

    in Writing

With today's episode I'll be undertaking the exercise of developing a pitch for a Green Lantern movie.  I'll try to keep everything I say in broad strokes but the goal will be to take this entire franchise apart and put the whole thing back together with only the truly essential parts.

While I liked parts of the Ryan Reynolds movie more than many other people did, I'll admit Hal and the Corps deserve a better big screen representation. This is what I would it to be.

A tale of two heroes: Iron Man and Green Lantern

    in Writing

The original Iron Man film and the ill fated Green Lantern film were both created with the intention of launching a shared cinematic universe. One would lead to becoming one of the biggest franchises of the 21st century, the other sent their company back to the drawing board.

These two series have always matched each other quite well, all the way to the point of being Amalgamated into Iron Lantern of the Amalgam Universe, complete with merging even their supporting cast seamlessly.

What went right, what went wrong and above all else why?
