Are you in tune with your feelings?
When was the last time you had a good cry?
When was the last time you just allowed yourself to feel something without trying to numb it out by eating, drinking, computer use or other distractions?
In this week's podcast I share the importance of acknowledging our feelings at midlife. Rather than push our emotions aside, when managed carefully, we can use them as messengers for change, stress relievers and ways to feel more balanced - all the things we are striving for during this time.

Feelings...a part of the make up of your soul, can be very controlling. Galatians 5 mentions some feelings that are works of the flesh: wrath, strife, hatred, envying.
Circumstances happen in life. A lot of them cause an emotional reaction in you. An emotional reaction will take you away from faith toward God.
How do you escape being controlled by emotion?
Last week we talked about the fact the Word of God is a LEGAL DOCUMENT. Approaching it that way is the key to victory over being controlled by your emotions.
There are times when one can experience feelings of rejection. This can be caused by thoughts that have subconsciously played in the mind for a long time. However, this can be an opportunity to erase those thoughts and replace them with God's thoughts. You originated in your heavenly Father thoughts and He saw and approved of you while you were in your mother's whom (Psalm 139:13-16). Just think of it, He gave you survival tools that brought you to the place where you are today. He is the Father who has been waiting for you to come home to truth - the truth that will set you free. Join us today for live prayer before our Father. Dial 714 459-3963 at 6:00 AM Mon.-Fri.

When you feel slighted, rejected, disappointed, left-out, ignored, or insulted, do you tend to blame someone else for “hurting your feelings?” Well, wait just a minute. What is the reality here? The truth is that it is actually you who allows yourself to feel injured. Think about it. You have complete control over your own feelings ... no one tells you how to feel. No is inside your brain ... just you. It is all you! No one else processes the circumstances to which you react. You are in the driver’s seat. You are in control.
Listen now to Dr. Joan describe 5 steps which may help you take control of your own feelings.
Are you experiencing relationship issues at home, at work, or at play? Tune in to hear Dr. Joan describe alternative solutions. Follow along as she presents keys for harmony.
A portion of each program is devoted to the reading of Dr. Joan's published stories about human disputes. She is currently reading from her first novel Gra Im Thu! I Love You! The story is about two Irish families who find themselves intermarrying, even though they are poles apart in the areas of religion and politics. Tune in and listen to the story, as the O'Grady and Gwynn families learn to solve their potato encounters and develop a method for making delicious mashed potatoes together. Find out how diversity and harmony can live in the same house.
