Wombanist Views May Feature is Kalyani Magazine. Kalyani Magazine is far more than a publication, it is a community that focuses on sharing and amplifying the voices of women of color. It is a semi-annual literary publication, which features diverse writing styles (poetry, letters, short stories, and more) from women of color. Each issue of Kalyani explores one theme, word, or concept that impacts women in diverse ways.

Kalyani's mission is to provide a voice to all those women of color that remain voiceless. It encourages women of color to express their views, their experiences, their feelings. The overall goal of Kalyani is be an accessible literary magazine which encourages all women of color to view themselves as writers, readers and supports each other on this path.

Writers from all over the world have contributed to Kalyani, and the magazine specifically welcomes submissions from previously unpublished authors.

Father Frank Bwalya is the former Executive Director at Get Involved Zambia and he is popularly known for his red card campaign which was directed at the former ruling party as an injunction on their corrupt and arrogant style of governance. He is also credited for helping the current government win the parliamentary and presidential election in 2011.
Father Bwalya recently announced his resignation as board chairman of the nation’s only electricity supplier, ZESCO. He is citing the government’s immoral and double standards in their governance and management of the national treasury in the midst of high levels of poverty. He explained that he decided to resign from ZESCO last Thursday as people could not take his position on various governance issues as they portrayed that he had been compromised by the job. Father Bwalya is our guest on a special feature he is calling; ‘Why I resigned from corporate world perspective.’

Brian's work has been seen in Playboy Magazine, Heavy Metal Magazine, Pro Wrestling Illustrated, on "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly" and in numerous comics, video games, magazines, even children's books. He has also worked in the animation field as lead animator and designer on many television commercials and corporate videos.
He has worked alongside Kevin Eastman at Heavy Metal Magazine as lead book designer and contributing illustrator. He cites one of his favorite jobs as working with Malibu Bay Films' late great Andy Sidaris and his wife, producer Arlene Sidaris. Brian was heavily involved in the DVD release of all 12 of their films and co-writing, inking and coloring a series tie-in comic book with Andy.
In the digital world, he recently completed work on Cowbell Hero, the newest video game from Digital Hero Games for iPhone and iPad, with all game story art supplied by Brian. Brian is currently working on his own creations, "Elephant Man Of War" a horror/action "Freak-O-Rama" and "Coco The Hula Girl", a monster fighting jungle adventure. He likes long walks on the beach, bunnies and circus freaks.
