Keep listening until about 37 SECONDS in the show starts. We apologize for the technical difficulties.
We continue with From Fear into Fearlessness. Listen to how the enemy causes feelings of unworthiness by producing fear.
"Until I learned to face those fears, the lies of Satan behind the fear. I felt unworthy; so many things I pushed it off. But when God had me to that point where I said God no matter what I want to be like you; show me how to confront this unworthiness."
Scriptures quoted or referenced:
"John 8:32 KJV And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
"1 John 1:9 KJV If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
"Psalm 19:12 KJV Who can understand [his] errors? cleanse thou me from secret [faults]."
"Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
"Job 2:2 KJV And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."
"1Peter 5:8 KJV8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
The Egyptians are intimidated by the growing population of their Hebrew slaves and order midwives to kill Hebrew babies as they are first born. The midwives are fearless, however, and concoct a story to cover up the fact that they refuse to carry out the Egyptians' heinous orders. God rewards their courage and faithfulness.
In today's world, when we go against what is politically correct and share the Truth, we are also courageous and will be rewarded.
My guest this week is Karen Maezen Miller, author of Paradise in Plain Sight: Lessons from a Zen Garden.
About the book:
When Zen teacher Karen Maezen Miller and her family land in a house with a hundred-year-old Japanese garden, she uses the paradise in her backyard to glean the living wisdom of our natural world. Through her eyes, rocks convey faith, ponds preach stillness, flowers give love, and leaves express the effortless ease of letting go. The book welcomes readers into the garden for Zen lessons in fearlessness, forgiveness, presence, acceptance, and contentment. Miller gathers inspiration from the ground beneath her feet to remind us that paradise is always here and now.

QUOTE - " There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we walk in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

The philosophy of non-violence is not one of fear but of fearlessness in the face of violence. Much of the violence in the urban community is self inflicted by yesterday's neglected, rejected and abused children who have now come of age and are terrorizing the neighborhoods with senseless violence. The adults who draw youth into organized crime capitalize on broken homes, absent fathers and overwhelmed mothers and grandmothers. The evil of guns and drugs is just as deadly as police with fire hoses and attack dogs in keeping communities in a state of terror. Can Dr. King's strategy of non-violent direct confrontation work in ridding neighborhoods of street violence? How? Community Activist, Coach and Candidate for 20th Ward Alderman Ernest Radcliff explains how his nonviolent work with youth has been successful.
