What it means to pour it all our for Jesus and souls (Matthew 19)
Consider Matthew 19:1&-22: "Now someone approached him [Jesus] and said, 'Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?" Note thequestion. The man is asking what good he himself must do. He seems to be asking what the bare essentials are that he is required to do. This, unfortunately, is an example of dripping as opposed to pouring. "He answered him, 'Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good.'" In other words we ourselves cannot muster any good. We are only at)le to be good or accomplish good through the One who is good, our Blessed Lord, Jesus....
We are expecting the Lord to do mighty things in our lives as we remain faithful to the call of prayer. We activate the spoken work on Earth and what we pray is activated in Heaven to bring results.
I think the answer to this question is contained within the definition of the word "faithful." The concept of marriage or partnership stems from a history of dowries, deals and ownership. As time has progressed, humans have tried to make it more beautiful, but one aspect that hasn't been questioned in mainstream culture is the concept of monogamy.
Even in many spiritual practices which recognize that attachment is the root of suffering, monogamy is the exception. In other words, you can work on all aspects of releasing attachments while still accepting it is normal and healthy to have attachment to what your partner does with his/her love, and especially with his/her sexuality. Herein may lie the problem.
There are many of us who feel a desire to be with someone else while in a relationship with someone but it is supressed because if we want the love of the person we are with, we have to keep ourselves only unto them.

Tonight's topic is Faithful Men; are there any left? Is a man even CAPABLE of being faithful? Well that has and still remains open for debate. So many women have that 1 dream of just having a faithful man which it seems most people think is more of a Cindarella story; especially since television and the media are known for displaying men as unfaithful, cheaters, and for being heartless.
But what about the women who absolutely adore their man and say that they know their man is totally faithful even in a room full of naked women? YES, some women are really convinced that their man is that dedicated to them and the question is if your man didn't give you a reason to think he's unfaithful, then whynot give him the benefit of the doubt?
There's a lot to debate about on this topic so make sure you tune in by dialing 347-838-9540 on Monday at 9PM Eastern Standard Time and be sure to press 1 if you would like to speak to the hosts.
In today's reading, Joseph is empowered by God to accurately interpret dreams, which is truly an amazing feat. A man who benefited from his accurate interpetation promised to remember him and help him, since he was unjustly imprisoned. But the man proceeded to immediately forget his commitment to help Joseph.
Sometimes the most faithful and awesome people are overlooked and cast aside like a worn out shoe, but there is great comfort in knowing that God sees and doesn't forget. In the end, there will be perfect justice and reward.
There are a lot of reasons why people get divorced but among them are the hot issues of infidelity. When a spouse finds out that their husband or wife is cheating on them, it rips apart the fabric of the relationship. Sometimes the tear is so wide and so deep, that it cannot be repaired. Instead, the only option for some is to divorce.
Is being faithful a thing of the past? We've heard stories of couples who remained faithful through thick and thin, up and down. For some, the idea of having an outside fling would never cross their minds. What has changed in our society that being faithful seems to be a figment of the imagination?
Among Christians there is infidelity and we're supposed to be the poster children of love, marriage, and fidelity. Yet, it's nothing to hear of the pastor with so-and-so while this person is doing that with someone else. When we make the vow, 'forsaking all others', are we merely doing lip service because it's tradition or do we really mean it?
Can we love the one we're with? Can we truly be faithful?
On this year's last episode of the Write Stuff I'll be talking about this issue with Minister Yvette Tatum as we discuss my newest release, The Other Man. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today. Any way you, can join us.
