    Life Really Is Fair

    in Motivation

How many times are we going to allow ourselves to settle for the excuse life isn't fair before we change something? Can you honestly come up with real reasons to accept that things work out in ways you don't want, in ways you don't expect? You can't always have your way, just like you won't always not have your way. Everyone gets their turn, thats life.

I know things don't always go the way we plan, but we have to remember its not because God doesn't like us or is mad at us. Its because God has to make sure everyone is happy, and sometimes in order to make sure someone else gets what they want, we won't get what we want.

And, thats the definition of fair. To make sure everyone gets their own chance. Today might be her turn, tomorrow his, and the next day yours. You never know what day is going to be your day.

How to support HR/ 25, Fair Tax or any bill on the Hill in 2015

    in Politics

On our very first show of 2015 we are going to discuss how we can support Fair Tax or any bill on the Hill without traveling from the comfort of our homes, and without spending a dime. When HR 25/S 122 are reintroduced in the new congress you can do a lot to help promote the bill and you can be sure Washington will hear you. Your comments will even be archived in the Library of Congress. The tool we will use is Pop Vox and you can be sure Washington will listen because they pay for this information.  Just watch the video and find out how;   http://vimeo.com/47322106.

Please join us with your questions and comments this Wednesday. We are planning on promoting this effort in a very big way from now until April 15th and we would like to have you be part of the effort. Again, it won't cost you a dime and you will not have to leave home to make a serious difference.

Fair Tax Time is brought to you commercial free each Wednesday evening, 6PM Pacific time, 9PM Eastern, by our host, John Wesley Nobles. You may listen on your computer or on your phone. Dial (619) 393-6478 or, if you’re charged for long disance, use our toll-free line: (888) 436-1206. Just follow instructions when the nice British lady answers.

Film, Oil & Water David Poritz & Fair Trade Oil

    in Lifestyle

Mitchell’s guest this evening is a young man whose story was one of two told in the film Oil & Water, David Poritz, about the devastation of large swaths of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, right in the middle of Indian tribal lands inhabited by the indigenous people for generations.  The film was featured on Progressive Film Hour on March 3, on which Mitchell interviewed one of the filmmakers, Francine Strickwerda and the other young man whose story was told in the film, Hugo Lucitante.

Both controversial and with impassioned, environmentalist emotions set aside, today’s guest, David Poritz, is creating a novel and really desperately needed protection of indigenously-populated lands through the ranking/rating system of safety and what need to be eco-sensitive practices by the oil industry, just as we have fair-trade certification for coffee, diamonds and other commodities often originating in the highly-exploited “Global South”.

Oil and Water will be the featured film for the matinee showing at the Paradigm Shifts Music and Film Festival on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. For more information and tickets, go to: http://abetterworld.tv/a-music-and-film-festival-march-19-29/
