Benefits of using Yarrow & Chamomile plants in skin care!

    in Self Help

Rosie is going to discuss the many benefits  of the Yarrow and Chamomile plant in health and beauty care.   Yarrow has many names, including Nosebleed, Milfoil, Thousand-leaf, Soldier’s Woundwort, Devil’s Nettle, Devil’s Plaything, Bad Man’s Plaything and Yarroway. Don’t let the tough names scare you, though– yarrow is a gentle herb.

Yarrow is a perfect ingredient for cleansers especially Yarrow hydrosol which is a very gentle skin toner, especially those aimed at oily skin. It’s great for tonic, especially due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It’s even used in cosmetics as a soothing agent.

Chamomile is an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Chamomile's popularity grew throughout the Middle Ages when people turned to it as a remedy for numerous medical complaints including asthma, colic, fevers, inflammations, nausea, nervous complaints, children's ailments, skin diseases and cancer. As a popular remedy, it may be thought of as the European counterpart of the Chinese tonic Ginseng.

    Immigration Reform vs Black Unemployment?

    in Politics

Immigration reform is not about Blacks and Latinos. Immigration reform includes people from countries all over the world and it is about citizenship. Immigration reform is necessary not just because people have crossed into United States illegally or are here undocumented. Immigration reform is necessary because we are a country of immigrants. Immigration reform is necessary because without it employers will continue to exploit workingclass citizens and non-citizens. A pathway to citizenship is for the good of all America. Right now, our broken immigration system benefits only the 1% and those who are the puppets of the 1%. Black unemployment and citizenship for the illegal and the undocumented are not a rivalry issue about immigration. We all immigrated here except for  Native Indians and stolen Africans. And every since Africans were freed from slavery, unemployment has been high for  African Americans. Self-employment kept African Americans living. Self-employment became part of the black code law that put African Americans at the mercy of slave wages. So there is nothing new in 2014 about Black unemployment. Unemployment for Blacks has always been higher than unemployment for any other groups of Americans. Pre-President Obama, Blacks experienced first fired last hired. Had it not been for family/communitiy way of life over the decades, and creativity that has been handed from one generation to the the next, where would Black families be today?

Highest unemployment is the norm in Black communities and for Black Americans

Poor living conditions reflected in shelter and transportation means

Consumption of foods not for nutrition value but based on value of available funds

    High imprisonment for lessor offenses

No protection under the law for hangings and rape at will

Expect The Unexpected: What You May Not Know About Social Security Benefits

    in Self Help

Have you ever thought what you would do if something unexpected happened regarding your health and you were unable to continue to work to create an income?

Have you seriously considered the possibilities of  having no income due to unexpected circumstances? If your answer is no, you will want to hear what our guest, Jeanette Taylor has to say.

Jeanette was caught off guard when she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had to resign from work.  She found  herself without an income and still had to pay her mortgage and maintain her daily life including living with a disease that threatened to take her life.

Jeanette turned for help to our Social Security Disability System to assist her. After many years of working and paying taxes into Social Security thinking she was entitled to support…Jeanette was left without an income for over 5 months.  Find out from Jeanette what happened when she contacted her Congressional Representatives and even The President.

Even though this may not be where you are in your life today, and God forbid it ever is, this is an important topic to discuss. Jeanette never suspected her health would be compromised or that she would be unable to provide for herself.  She was not prepared for the unexpected…but she wants you to be.
