Computer Explorers Partners with Music Producer

    in Education

Join us as we talk to Whitney Belker Vauvelle, Founder/CEO of The Music Producer.  Computer Explorers is excited about the new partnership! The software teaches children how to compose original music using computers. Students will begin creating compositions in Computer Explorers classes beginning this fall, and in return will share their songs on social media networks with friends and families.

The Music Producer software is a music creation tool that anyone with a PC can use. Students can sample existing music, add background instruments and vocals, set the beat and add their own voices. Best of all, no prior musical experience is required.

Whitney will share with us how music boosts self-esteem, increases focus and even drives attendance for at-risk students!

THE CRYSTAL SKULL EXPLORERS - The Shapiros

    in Religion

The Crystal Skulls are considered to be one of the world's greatest mysteries. Since the end of the 19th century, when the first crystal skulls were put on public display; these crystalline objects continue to intrigue many people all over the world. Yet, at the same time they are generally ignored by the archaeologists and scientists. Most of these human-sized (or larger) crystal skulls have been uncovered near or within ancient ruins in Mexico and Central America. Within recent times, we continue to hear about new skulls that are surfacing. What is going on around these quartz objects?

Another good question to ask is: Why are people drawn to learn more about the crystal skulls or to have a personal contact with one? Today there are thousands of crystal skulls being created by modern carvers -- why are people wanting to have one for themselves? And, why are there various indigenous tribes or cultures, who honor the crystal skulls as sacred objects and are secretly protecting them? Could it be that the crystal skulls are a powerful tool from our past that is re-emerging to assist humanity with some future crises?

We are very proud to announce the release of our new book, "Journeys of a Crystal Skull Explorer" written by Joshua Shapiro with his wife, Desy Shapiro. After two years of extensive work, the first version of our book is NOW READY! Please feel free to browse through this website and take time to get to know the authors a little bit better. Check out the information contained within this new book as it provides a thorough overview of the latest activities happening in the world around the crystal skulls.

    Realm Explorers -- Write Stuff -- 10/21/2014

    in Radio

The Write Stuff is proud to be a media sponsor of the Bay Area Family Literacy Day taking place on November 1st.  Family literacy is a critical component to getting your children to read & enjoy reading. Further, your children will discover the vastness of their creativity.  Imagine one day you're at home when  a large, terrifying tornado comes out of nowhere, whips up your house and your dog, and lands you in a world full of yellow brick roads, munchkins, a cowardly lion, and a tin man without a heart.

What if you found  a golden ring with power that could turn you into a dark lord or queen? It mesmerized you, called to you, and haunted you until it consumed your mind. You'd fight hobbits, and creatures of both dark and light, travel mountains, and align yourself with wizards of extraordinary power.

You may recognize the two worlds mentioned  but what they  have in common is that these tales take us to realms far away from what we know. We are immersed into lands of magic, and mystery. In fact, one of the best things about being a writer is that you can create the world you want. Is it filled with dragons and sorcerers? Do dogs rule the Kingdom? Do the fish and crabs dance under the sea while they save a mermaid from an evil witch with the body of an octopus? Are you the chosen one, given the ability to change the course of two worlds? Can you command a ship with a crew as you head into the unexplored regions of space? Will you step through a gate that takes you to another world as easily as going from one room to the next?

    Are you are Realm Explorer?

Join me as we talk with author and teacher Annie Lima Douglass as she takes into the imaginations of authors and the realms they create to fill us with wonder. You can join in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV Radio mobile app. Any way you can, join us.
