The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview a favorite Pittsburgh Steeler, Ernie Mills.
Ernie Mills comes to the Rattler squad as the receivers’ coach. Mills was a standout receiver for the Florida Gators before being drafted in 1991 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in Pittsburgh with Holmes until 1996. In 1997 he played one season with the Carolina Panthers, before playing with the Dallas Cowboys in 1998 and 1999.
Ernie Mills led the Gators in receiving touchdowns with 10 in 1990. That season he also garnered 770 yards receiving. He was a first-team All-SEC selection with the 9-2 Gators in 1990, playing under both Galen Hall and Steve Spurrier in his time at the University of Florida.
Ernie helped the Steelers get a birth in Super Bowl XXX with 39 catches for 679 yards while scoring eight touchdowns on the season. Mills spent nine years in the NFL. He finished his career with 196 receptions, 20 touchdowns and 2,934 yards. Mills is still regarded as one of the toughest receivers to ever play professional football. His versatility as a blocker was often compared to the resolve of the area’s reputation for blue collar steel workers. Also a return man in the NFL, Mills gained and amazing 1,818 yards on 80 kickoff returns.
"Today is Ernie birthday and the 150th anniversary of Congress’s passage of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery. Smiling faces can sometimes conceal what’s deep within,” Ernie Banks’s cheerfulness as a thermostat that “helped control the temperature” of his times, disarmed adversaries with optimism” and “branded good will.” Rev Jesse Jackson

Ernie Smith (born Glenroy Anthony Michael Archangelo Smith, May 1945, Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae singer, with a deep baritone voice, who had his greatest success in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Fab 5, formed in 1970, is Jamaica's pre eminent popular band, whether measured by record sales at home, hits on the charts, frequency of engagements or major awards won over the years.Their first recording, "Come Back And Stay", was number one in Jamaica, and in their first year on the road, and for the following two years, they won the only available awards, the Swing Awards for best band of 1971-72, 1972-73 and 1973-74. They also took the El Suzie Award as Joint Top Road and Dance Band for 1975-76 and the RJR Listeners' Award for Best Band in 1980.They backed Johnny Nash on all the reggae cuts comprising most of his platinum album "I Can See Clearly Now". Two singles from that album, "Guava Jelly" and "Stir It Up", established Bob Marley as a major songwriter on the international scene.Fab 5 have enjoyed an endless succession of hits in Jamaica and the "ethnic" markets of North America. In their early years such songs as "Chirpy Cheep", "Shaving Cream", "Oh, Dad" and "Love Me For A Reason", and their musicality and showmanship made Fab 5 the rage on the dance and show circuits.More recently, they have been kept on top by the likes of "Yu Safe", "Ring Road Jam", "Feeling Horny", "Computer Mad", "What The Police High Command Can Do", "Jamaican Woman", "Psalms", "All Night Party", "Mini", "Sweat", "Don't Wear None", "Freeze", "Good Buddy", "Mango" and their "Live" series.

So far Steve and I have tackled the AL and NL East divisions and a lot of action has continued in the off-season. One of the dvisions that has seen a flurry of activity is the NL West, which features MLB Champs, the San Francisco Giants. We dissected all the major and many of the minor moves of each ball club and the changes in the front office. 2015 promises to be a tough year for the entire division, which means great baseball and exciting races.
Sad news to report as MLB legend Ernie Banks passed away at the age of 33 on Friday from a heart attack. Banks was not only one of the greatest to ever play the game, but he was widely seen as the ambassador for Major League Baseball. A man we will all miss.
Tom Harding, MLB beat writer for the Colorado Rockies joined us to speak about the Colorado Rockies, their off-season moves, and other likely moves to be made. We also spoke about the rest of the division and how the competition is shaping up.
We also shared our rankings for the NL West.
