A Reprise of The Question: "Is The Church Equipped?"

    in Music

With so many facing tough times, weather financially, emotionally, or otherwise, it's no wonder depression is on the rise! Depression is a state of mind that could be very difficult to shake, be it a generational curse, demons, or whatever it may be. Finding the proper help or treatment is crucial for the one experiencing it.

The recent death of Actor/ Comedian Robin Williams who was reported to have been struggling with deep depression, has raised the question that we've asked some time ago- "Is the Church Equipped?" Join us as we re-explore a conversation with Andrea D Hicks and Dr. Alphod Sinclair.

I am being sexually abused- These are just a few of the problems we are facing today, BUT Is The Church equipped to handle or remedy these issues?

The Parker J Cole Show -- Getting Equipped to Lead

    in Radio

A pastor is more than a pastor. He is a leader, accountable to his flock as well as to the Lord for his actions. A person who God has caused to pastor needs to understand exactly what that position requires. Some choose to enter pastoral positions for the money. Some enter it for the prestige that comes with the position.

Being a pastor is more than just telling your flock, 'Thus saith the Lord." It has more to do with learning how to lead and having the proper mentality toward leadership.

Church leaders, especially pastors, need to be equipped with the right tools to lead. To help us with this topic, we will be talking with Dr. Dee Stokes of Dee Stokes Ministries, Inc.

    A Moment With The Colonel

    in Religion

A Moment with the Colonel is to fulfill and obey The Great Commission.

    Matthew 26:18-20

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We will do this by sharing the word of God, praying for people in order to obey the commandment in Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

We are trained disciples of The Elijah Challenge and minister healing and deliverance to those who need a miracle.  We minister to nonbeliever or non-followers of Jesus to believe and follow Jesus with signs and wonders following.

We are open to train those who would like to be trained in The Elijah Challenge so that they are more equipped to win the lost to the kingdom because the harvest is great and the labors to work the harvest are few.

These First Things & 3 Realms of Reality

    in Christianity

    These First Things

    11) Man likes to make complex what God has made simple.

    12) Accept what God reveals, even if it doesn’t answer all your questions or doesn’t seem to fit in with your other beliefs.

    13) Is what you’re believing working for you? He has a purpose for our time here, and if we don’t learn it here we will have to learn it in the next age to come.

    14) Religious Jargon. One of the first things we’re going to do is to try as much as possible to stay away from religious terms, and instead re-phrase the concepts into something that will hopefully mean something to all of us.

Spirit, Soul & Body and the 3 Realms of Reality

When we understand how God made us, and the changes wrought through salvation, we are better equipped to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil. We need to start with a solid understanding and description of what we are, and what our environment is. If you are a regenerated Christian, you can say, “I am a spirit, I have a soul and I live in a body.”

The Body & the Natural Realm

God created us with bodies. Each of us lives in a unique body, inherited genetically from our parents, who inherited their bodies from their parents, and so on. The body is made up of skin, muscle, circulatory system, heart, brain, etc. Our body was made to function in this earthly environment for a limited time and under earthly restrictions, and it is our body that communicates and relates to this world. The body has five senses: touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing. The body is not a spiritual entity, but is often affected by what goes on in both the soul and the spirit. The body is not eternal. Warfare in the natural realm consists of taking care of our bodies; when our bodies break down, it is often an indication that there is something wrong in the soulical realm.

    What Goes Around Comes Aroûnd

    in Lifestyle

Often times we find ourselves ill equipped to deal with relationships because we have not dealt with ourselves. These relationships are more than likely going to continue to play out in the same fashion if we aren't paying attention to our patterns. The patterns that are created can be generational, individual and social, etc. How do we begin a new health pattern?

    Inside MLB

    in Baseball

After stopping off at the hot corner, the B/R MLB 300 now moves to the outfield for a look at the top center fielders in the league.

Like the four infield positions, our list of center fielders consists of 25 out of the overall 300 players. As for how this list came to be, we subjected each player to a scoring system that adds up to a total of 100 possible points.

First, there are 25 points for hitting. Our focus is on how well each player is equipped to hit for average and get on base. This means looking not only at how he hits the ball but also at how consistently he makes contact and whether he has the discipline to draw walks.

Then, there are 25 points for power. We concentrated on how well each player collects extra-base hits, which means looking at how often he puts the ball in the air—ground balls don't tend to go for extra-base hits, after all—how hard he hits it and how much of the field he can use for power.

Next, there are 20 points for baserunning. It's more of a priority for center fielders than it is for most, so we'll look at whether players can steal bases as well as whether they're capable of running the bases aggressively.

Masterfully “Cool”: An album unlike any other by

    Bob James and Nathan East

“The New Cool,” an expansive acoustic offering centered on scholarly jazz piano and bass duets, will be released September 18, a first from the GRAMMY®-honored artists and long-time collaborators.

Nashville, Tennessee (7 July 2015): Albums just aren’t made like the way “The New Cool” was made. Yamaha Entertainment Group label president Chris Gero put legendary keyboardist Bob James and master bassist Nathan East in the recording studio, equipped them with state-of-the-art Yamaha gear and gave them free reign to create. Recorded entirely in Nashville, the long-time collaborators emerged with an unexpected and audacious collection of original compositions plus a few handpicked classics, an acoustic jazz outing that will make you forget everything you thought you knew about these GRAMMY®-recognized artists best known as contemporary jazz luminaries. The disc produced by Gero, James and East will be released September 18.

“The New Cool” unfolds much in the way the meticulously-crafted project was conceived. The germ begins organically with a couple of intimate James and East duets. Pastoral piano wanderings explore the outer perimeter of straight-ahead jazz where they peruse, mirror and engage with meandering bass lines. In fact, more than half of the record’s compositions written by James and/or East are sparsely-produced, probing piano and bass sojourns.
