Meet 13 year old nashville recording artist Michelle Willis

    in Radio

Michelle is a vivacious young talent from Louisiana who possesses a maturity well beyond her years, both in her musical abilities and in her character. On stage, her winsome spirit, passionate performances, and unexpected vocal ability all work together to quickly engage audiences, while off stage, you will encounter a charming and endearing personality and a tender heart toward others.

Since the age of three, she has been sharing her love for singing and entertaining. Her talent was first noticed through her participation in the church choir and her dream of becoming an entertainer began at the age of 8 when she performed in her first musical theater production. The standing ovation she received at that event was the spark that gave birth to the idea that she should pursue this dream. Since then, she has performed in many musical theater productions and even landed the lead role of Annie in Annie, the Musical, which played to sold-out performances each night.

In addition to musical theater, Michelle has sung in numerous community events and festivals. But, it wasn’t until she won first place in the professional division at the Beauregard Watermelon Festival in DeRidder, LA, that she truly began to realize and seriously pursue her goal of becoming a professional singer.

At the age of 11, she was discovered by an online talent scout and was featured on the Stars to Come web magazine, which led to an invitation for her to travel to Nashville and audition for industry professionals. She was one of twenty people to be invited from across the nation, and, as a result, she was offered a contract with PCG Nashville, the nation’s premier artist development company. The President of PCG Nashville, Bernard Porter, describes her as “a musical prodigy”.

    THE GOLDBERGS' ACTOR STEPHEN TOBOLOWSKY

    in Entertainment

You might not know his name, but you’ve seen his face a thousand times on both the big and small screen because Stephen Tobolowsky is one of America’s most prolific Hollywood character actors. But you will recognize the voice of some of your favorite characters, and the storyteller behind the popular podcast “The Tobolowsky Files” when Mr. Tobolowsky joins Halli at her table on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, Wednesday, February 11 3 pm ET.

Stephen Tobolowsky is everywhere, having appeared in productions that range from TV’s Californication, Glee and The Goldbergs, and on the big screen in such celebrated films as Mississippi Burning, Thelma and Louise, Basic Instinct and Ground Hog Day in the part of the annoying but endearing insurance salesman Ned Ryerson, playing annoying characters his trademark.

And still Tobolowsky is so much more. As a dazzling storyteller and writer, he has earned a devoted fan base for his original stories recorded in the popular podcast: The Tobowlowsky Files. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for the 2002 revival of Morning’s at Seven. He is the author of THE DANGEROUS ANIMAL CLUB, the book billed as a “creative mitzvah, a work of art, and a narrative feat that combines biography and essay.” But that’s not all. In March he will be joining the cast of Comedy Central’s new series Big Time in Hollywood Florida, executive produced by Ben Stiller.

Actor, writer, podcaster, director, producer Stephen Tobolowsky, the guest for the hour on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show. Let’s talk Wednesday, February 11, 3 pm ET. For more information visit Halli Casser-Jayne dot com.

Award-Winning Author, Jenni Wiltz Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Books

Jenni Wiltz writes fiction and creative nonfiction. She's won national writing awards for romantic suspense and creative nonfiction, and her short fiction has been published in literary journals including Gargoyle and The Portland Review. When she's not writing, she enjoys running and doing genealogical research. She lives in Pilot Hill, California. Find her online at JenniWiltz.com.

The family dynamics are also particularly well-drawn. This is not a faux family that is either too perfect or too ridiculous. The communication between Emma and her family members is believable and genuine. These relationships are what drew me into the story. The quirks and dysfunction are true to life, in a way that I found extremely endearing–and also frustrating. I *cared* about the outcome. I wanted to scream at characters, to shake them: I was invested.

Despite the heavy subject matter (revenge, violence, culture clashes), The Red Road was a quick and satisfyingly intense read. – Sara Strand, Amazon review

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Author Gary Rodriguez will be my guest on Sunday, Dec. 14th. We'll be chatting about his new book, Escape Through the Wilderness.

    About the book:

Escape Through The Wilderness is a timely reminder that children's adventure stories remain ever popular and this is one that deserves to grab the spotlight. A full on attention grabber from the start, Rodriguez spins his debut in endearing prose, his plot exciting, inventive and wholly convincing in its implementation, with plenty of unpredicted twists and turns along the way. Undeniably, a story about friendship, his young protagonists are ably observed with well-crafted personas which allow room for growth as their peril evolves. It’s a splendid telling that will certainly engage the imaginations of his young readers. There’s suspense, plenty of tension and gratifyingly dark overtures which children will lap up, but it never feels rushed with every chapter leaving the reader hungry for more. On cursory reflection it is simply a cracking story, but the thematic undertones reflect the loss of innocence and the fundamental issue of survival which would be invaluable for parent-child discussion.

    About the author:

My name is Gary Rodriguez, and I live in California. I'm the president of LeaderMetrix Inc., a consulting company that specializes in senior-level executive coaching, organizational development, and conflict resolution.
Previously, I worked for eighteen years in the radio business as an executive where I spent several years as one of the original managers of Infinity Broadcasting.

My Heart Beats for Love, Eternal Love--Yea, Even Conjugal Love Forever

    in Religion

    20. The Gods who dwell in the Heaven from which our spirits came, are beings who have been redeemed from the grave in a world which existed before the foundations of this earth were laid. They and the Heavenly body which they now inhabit were once in a fallen state. Their terrestrial world was redeemed, and glorified. and made a Heaven...

    21. These Gods, being redeemed From the grave with their wives, are immortal and eternal, and will die no more. But they and their wives will be supremely happy. All the endearing ties of conjugal love which existed in their bosoms, when terrestrial and Fallen beings, are now greatly increased and perfected which serve to swell their souls with feelings of rapturous delight, and unbounded love towards each other, and with joys that are everlasting. How beautiful--how interesting--how inexpressibly lovely will they appear in each others eyes! Full of virtue and goodness, knowledge and intelligence, affection and love they shine forth in all the brilliancy and glory of these Godlike attributes, inspiring each other, and all Heaven, with a fulness of Eternal joys.

But can several wives love one and the same man as their husband? Yes, if he treat them in a way to merit their confidence and love. There is no more difficulty in several women loving one husband than there is in several persons loving our Lord and Saviour. God is the Author of sexual or conjugal love, the same as He is of all other kinds of pure love; and if He unites several women to one man in the sacred bonds of matrimony, it is their duty to cultivate and increase the heavenly principle of pure love to their husband, until they love him with all their hearts, even as they love God; and he should love them in return, even as he loves God. There is no evil in love; but there is much evil resulting from the want of love. The Seer; Orson Pratt
