About the Tour.
SISFI is hosting our Suicide Awareness and Prevention NY Tour on Sept. 17th - Oct 3rd across NYC, Long Island and Westchester to bring more awareness, services, programs and resources to address the increasing numbers of people facing serious life and emotional challenges, and human suffering with suicide ideations/thoughts, and supporting families who lost loved ones to suicide.
The theme of the tour is “Look into my heart and mind, tell me what you see”. It highlights the realities of not knowing what’s in a person’s mind or on their heart by what we see on the outside, and that we must engage in dialog and allow an open and comfortable atmosphere for people to open up and express themselves. The workshops and radio shows of the tour are scheduled at different times every day across the 3 cities.
We have aligned 15 community workshops, 3 luncheons and 15 radio shows to bring people, mental health professionals, energy therapists, health professionals, survivors and healers together to address this very serious and important topic affecting many people in our communities. While the community workshops are local in the 3 cities, the radio shows will have guests from across the country who lost loved ones, and practitioners who specializes in the support, treatment, recovery and healing of mental health, life coaching, emotional wellness and human suffering.

Degenerative disease as well as infection are forms of the one disease -- distress of the organism. This is promoted on purpose by the controlling powers. Preventing disease and inflammation is a process of avoiding or minimizing distress. Relaxing tension and anxiety, avoiding toxins and detoxifying, and consuming life-supporting nutrients will help prevent distress of the organism.

This is a topic that I return to every once in awhile because I know how common it is to feel depressed, sad, lonely, misunderstood, unfulfilled frustrated or stuck.
I have been through all of these emotions, repeatedly, both for long and short periods of times.
These feelings are a healthy and normal part of our emotional cycles. What is not healthy is when you get stuck in a bad-feeling emotion and it is hindering your participation in, or enjoyment of, your life.
Here I am, six and a half months into my cross-country move from D.C. to L.A. It's been wonderful and happy and easy, until recently.
The Take Back Your Health Conference™ is growing into a bi-coastal event. I'm working on the first TBYH book and we're going to start videos in the next few months.
Lately I have felt out of balance. I know that this is because I am stretching myself thin with my work, in an unfamiliar city.
When you stretch yourself thin, you lose sleep, you walk around on edge, you get frustrated with others when they take your time, and emotions, like loneliness and self-doubt, become magnified.
I let it go too far - to the point of being paralyzed from action. I couldn't even write this email to you all! I finally turned to a good friend of mine. My lover, friend and boyfriend. He sees me more clearly than I can see myself sometimes.
I told him that I felt like I was losing myself in the enormity of the changes I had made this year. That's when he did something for me that changed my mood instantly. I was able to get back to writing this email to you and our relationship grew deeper for it.
I'm going to share his trick with you today on TBYH Radio. I'm also going to share the three things that I do to get out of an emotional funk.
Melanie St. Ours, a clinical herbalist, author and founder of Psyche & Soma, talks with us about the impact that certain foods have on our daily emotions along with the secrets for feeling better and living happier. Would you like to develop emotional resilience? Melanie will tell you how!

With holidays coming up in a few weeks, this can be a time of stress for many people. Sometimes we are required to spend time with difficult family members. For some, the holidays represent excessive alone time filled with loneliness, sadness and perhaps depression. The holidays can, also, be prime time to engage in our most comfortable coping behaviors: overeating and drinking, overspending, engaging in family drama, indulging in self-defeating, negative thinking patterns, avoiding gatherings and isolating ourselves.
Guest Julie M. Simon, licensed psychotherapist, life coach and author of The Emotional Eater’s Repair Manual: A Practical Mind-Body-Spirit Guide for Putting an End to Overeating and Dieting, helps overeaters and imbalanced eaters heal their relationships with themselves, their bodies and food, stop dieting, lose excess weight and keep it off. Julie can be reached at www.overeatingrecovery.com.

Do you feel out of control around food? Do you eat when you feel stressed, sad, or disappointed in yourself?
You already know all the things you “should” to be doing. You say them to yourself almost every day:
…“I know I should be eating better”…
…“I know I should exercise more”…
…“I know I need to make more time for myself”…
And in the end, it all comes down to this: “I know what to do, I’m just not doing it.”
Are you ready to release the struggle and finally feel at peace with food – and with yourself?
If you daydream about how amazing you’ll feel once you finally get your eating under control but end up on the couch with a pint of ice cream, don’t miss this month’s show. My special guest, Kristen Kancler, will share the 4 secrets to end emotional eating and enjoy the holidays without sacrificing your waistline.
On this show, you’ll learn:
• Kristen’s 3-step plan to curb holiday cravings – before they start
• How to turn yourself around when you’re triggered and headed straight for the egg nog
• The #1 mindset to enjoy the holidays without ending up stuffed, exhausted, and 5 lbs heavier
• The 3 biggest fears that keep smart, determined women from losing weight
Dr. Love teaches the secrets of weight loss by preventing the emotional ups and downs of the Holidays.
Abandonment, Rejection and betrayal are the holdovers of childhood programming. Stuffing to avoid feelings is a bad habit that can be broken this holiday season. Listen in live and join our audience as we take questions about avoiding emotional eating over the holidays. Because of the seasonal change to colder weather we have a tendency to eat heavier foods. But here in Florida where it is not so cold we have a tendency to eat comfort foods that start with the Thanksgiving Turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. Then we graduate to Holiday Hams with lots of bread and jams.
Dr. Love has been teaching Juice Feasting and detoxification since 1983. He also teaches vegetarian cooking classes and raw food preparation. Join our studio audience live or listen live
