Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

On this episode of Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates, we discuss the latest article by William Edstrom from Counter Punch titled, "Waiting for Collapse: USA Debt Bombs Bursting." as capitalism requires the accumulation of debt, which some argue resulted in the 2008 financial collapse at the federal level, a growing number of cities are going to have their "debt bombs" burst any time soon. As usual, we can expect the working class to pay the heaviest price.

Bob and Chris will also discuss the up-coming Workers World Party National Conference in New York City on November 7th and 8th. If you are in the area, we invite you to attend this conference with your fellow workers, workers who have been fighting capitalist oppression since 1959.

Carson's Corner with The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

On this episode of Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates, Bernie Sanders has been compared to Jeremy Corbyn, the newly elected Labour Party leader in the U.K.; however, as Election Boycott Advocate Christopher Alan Driscoll points out, there is a world of difference between the two: Corbyn is a life long socialist, a supporter of nationalization of banks, energy and railroads, and strengthening the National Health Service... also, he is staunchly anti-war, unlike Sanders, and the chairman of the Stop the War Coalition, the largest and most popular peace group in Britain. Are the Bernie Bots trying to pull the wool over our eyes?

Plus, we'll address President Putin's response to the Obama administration's accusation of sending troops to Syria, the recent GOP debate, and the Chinese economy and stock markets and what that means for our economy.

Tune into Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates for a radical discussion few places elsewhere dare to have.

    in Spirituality

What fruit is produced when we praise God. Living a life of praise is not only the most enjoyable way to live, but it’s also one of the most powerful ways to change your life. Praise is like the engine of a train that makes things happen. Your faith isn’t complete without praise. Colossians 2:7 says that you abound in faith with thanksgiving. No thanksgiving equals not abounding in faith.Praise affects you, it affects the devil, and it affects God. It touches everything and every part of your life. Likewise, a lack of praise affects you in a negative way.

In Galatians 5:22 that the fruit of the Spirit is joy. If we have the Holy Spirit, we have joy. We may not feel that joy, but we can choose to lift our hands and speak forth praise to God by faith. Learning to praise God even when everything is going badly will change our hearts, make us much more effective, and cause our faith to abound.Philippians 4:6 says—Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. We face a lot of tough circumstances in this life, and the world expects us to behave a certain way when problems come. But God told us to respond a different way—to not let our hearts be troubled. We get to choose (Deut. 30:19). We have the option of following Jesus’ words and acting on the Word of God.

Praise will get our focus where it needs to be—on God. If we start praising God in the middle of our problems, our problems will shrink so much that we’ll hardly remember to bring them to God! We’ll be so busy praising Him and thanking Him for His blessings that our problems will be an afterthought.  Checking our praise lives is how we check our spiritual pulse. If we don’t live lives that are constantly giving thanksgiving and praise unto God, we are not spiritually healthy. -A. Womack

Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

On this episode of Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates, we begin by discussing the latest mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon. The alleged shooter, Chris Harper Mercer, was a right-wing extremist who held white supremacist views, much like many rampage killers these days. Is capitalism to blame for the violent society we live in (since the Sandy Hook massacre, 142 school shootings have occurred)?  Are white racially aggrieved males turning violent against their perceived enemies because of the conditions of capitalism? How about gun control, will we suddenly see a drop in rampages if enact more strict gun laws?

Russia is now conducting airstrikes on terrorists in Syria, the same terrorists that President Obama is defending. Plus, Putin and several other world leaders delivered speeches at the U.N. We'll discuss this and more.

    Facelift Results Without The Surgery

    in Health

Facial cosmetic surgery improvement with injectables such as Restylane, Sculptra, Kybella, Botox and other injectable products is now extremely popular among patients seeking anti-aging or age reversing procedures. However, combining fillers and neuromodulators in a way that can give results similar to a facelift is an art. Board certified dermatologic surgeon Dr. Suneel Chilukuri of Bellaire, TX uses a combination approach that he calls the Liquid Facelift to offer patients an alternative to surgery. The Indigenous Vote and Election 42 - A game changer?

    in Politics

The Harper decade has had no progress for Canada's Indigenous peoples. Just ceremony & pronouncements. Monumental studies have been released. There has also been the "First Nations Financial Transparency Act", a failed First Nations education bill and the steamroller of C-45 in 2012 that inspired Idle No More.

The fastest growing "demographic" or division in the population of Canada is Indigenous peoples. First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples have a healthy birth rate. The number of Indigenous people legally eligible to vote in the general election has never been higher. The First Nations vote has become a factor, in theory, in this election.

Dr. Judith Sayers is a mother of two and was the elected Chief of Hupacasath First Nation for 14 yrs, Chief Negotiator for 15 yrs. Rachel Ann Snow is Nakoda Sioux from Mini Thni, a mother of four, a legal scholar, resercher, analyst and consultant specializing in Indiginous law issues. She has over 20 years experience in administration and policy at management level.

Tanya Kappo is from the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation and has been actively involved in community building efforts including advancing an Indigenous rights agenda in her professional life and her personal life. A graduate of the University of Manitoba law school, she is the Co-Lead for the National Collective of Walking With Our Sisters.

Hayden King is Pottawatomi and Ojibwe from Beausoleil First Nation on Gchimnissing (Christian Island) in Huronia, Ontario.  At Ryerson University, he is the Director of the Centre for Indigenous Governance in the Faculty of Arts; Assistant Professor in the Dept of Politics & Public Administration.

Tune in for a real debate on both sides of this issue.

Corporate Learning Programs That Drive Results!

    in Business

Join us today on Women Leading the Way Radio as Michelle Bergquist, your host of Women Who Lead, interviews Kate Carroll, Director of Global Process at Ingram Micro.

Kate brings us a discussion from the corporate women’s point of view!  Kate has seen many forms of management & leadership development programs. Kate’s current hot button is driving learning programs that drive results. She focuses on those that are preparatory for taking on a larger role in the org. Those that provide exposure to concepts and business scenarios while offering related projects within the business are the best. It combines the educational and experiential and helps weed out participants who are not ready. It can be a very complex environment, but one where women ARE on the front lines.

Kate has a long standing career with the same employer that grew like crazy through the tech boom, and because of that, she has had tons of opportunity to learn new things, transfer around the organization, try roles outside her comfort zone, and advance. The growth trajectory meant she was often acting quickly to market needs and valued associates who were adaptable, inclusive, and creative. Mentors have had a large impact for her, from her mother to professional advocates!

As the CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Women of Influence, Michelle Bergquist is a passionate advocate for women in business. At Connected Women of Influence, we believe that more women need to lead in business and everything we do is center-focused on designing platforms, programs, connections and collaborative opportunities for b2b women to prosper, succeed and lead the way in business today!
