We chat with LGHL EIC Luke Zimmerman on a wide range of major college football topics, including everything relating to Minnesota. Are they the 25th best team in the country? Is Jerry Kill overrated? Where might they have an advantage on the field? We also discuss the Ohio State hot topic of late, the QB depth chart, and other major storylines in the Big Ten, and nationally.
Join The Gist of Freedom as we talk with Dan Duster, the grandson of the Anti-Lynching Crusader, Ida B. Wells!
"I had bought a pistol the first thing after Tom Moss was lynched, because I expected some cowardly retaliation from the lynchers. I felt that one had better die fighting against injustice than to die like a dog or a rat in a trap…I felt if I could take one lyncher with me, this would even up the score a little bit!" -
"In 1893, excluding Sundays, a Coloured man was lynched every day from January to December."
Ida never feared the lynch mob, she had faith in God to protect her: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalms 23:4). A threat to her life was not going to stop her from her crusade. The Review of Reviews announced that Wells, “a talented and resolute young lady of colour”, was on a pilgrimage around the British Isles to campaign on the subject of Negro lynching; they also published these Sadistic Statistics, "in 1893, excluding Sundays, a Coloured man was lynched every day from January to December."

When faced with the ominous 1040 every year during tax season, some taxpayers just sign on the dotted line, while others are curious about the calculations. If your one of those tax payers trying to find out how your tax bill is calculated and why credits and deductions impact the bottom line, you have come to the right place.
If a taxpayer qualifies to use either a tax credit or deduction they will most likely see a change in their taxable income. A tax credit will often lower a taxpayers tax bill dollar for dollar, no matter which tax bracket you are in. However a deduction will take money off of your taxable income and then deduction will depend on your tax bracket.
It is also important to know about the different credits and deductions how they affect the taxpayer.
