Today we are joined by singer and performer Patty Mattson. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota the second daughter of Ronald & Catherine Mattson. Her father was an amazing self taught guitar player wo played in a band called The Vibrations at one point they warmed up for the Beach Boys and he got to jam with Bob Dylan before Bob Dylan got successful.
Her grandfather Cal had that same musical gift on the piano.
Patty's Mom is the oldest of 10! She also grew up in Duluth MN, and was the beautiful, popular cheerleading captain, class secretary, in the choir, who loved school, music, and most of all family.
Suffice it to say, the apple didn’t fall far from the family tree. Patty once a child prodigy, (who has been funny her whole life), craftily imitated Lily Tomlin’s Ernestine and Edith Ann at 6, and would start singing at 8. To be sure, after auditioning with hundreds of other talented children, she was tapped by the Twin Cities highly respected Children’s Theatre Company to attend their theatre school through Jr. High. She would continue her music and theatre studies at MacPhail Center for the Arts at the University of Minnesota as well as the world renowned Guthrie Theatre. Subsequently, this singing great was signed by Dez Dickerson of Prince and the Revolution to her first production deal.
In 1990, the beautiful, 5’5 blonde moved to Los Angeles and was enlisted, in short order, to sing on the debut CD for The Boys Club for MCA records.
We are looking forward to hearing more from this talented guest and find what is coming up for her as 2013 ends and 2014
While a lot of people spend the rest of their lives figuring out their purpose, highly acclaimed director, screenwriter, producer, and children’s book author Diane Namm has always known that she wants to delve in the world of literature. So she took the necessary steps to ensure she can reach her dreams and inspire others to do the same.
From the moment she saw Braveheart, she believed that she was meant to be a female filmmaker and screenwriter. She then spent a huge part of her life running toward it. She polished her writing by creating several teen novels and film scripts, which allowed her to find her own voice along the way.
She first worked in New York City under several publishing companies such as Simon & Schuster, Grosset & Dunlap, and MacMillan Publishing as a writer and editor of children’s books. On the side, aside from authoring children’s books, she was developing stage plays.
