In a recent interview, Apple exec Eddy Cue said the free trial of Cupertino’s new music streaming service has a 11 million users – that’s a far cry from Spotify’s active user base of over 70 million. After some early tech setbacks and brutally critical reviews, what is the outlook for the tech giant’s new music offering?
Write on the Edge is a blog talk radio show that features GLBTQ, BDSM, and Erotica authors, characters, and issues. An edgier, more adult, and taboo radio show, WOE is intended for an adult audience because of its saucy conversations and riskier subjects.
This week's guests are Denny Upkins and Patricia Eddy!
Dennis R. Upkins is a speculative fiction author and an Atlanta, Ga. native. A lifelong geek and a hopeless comic book guy, his genres of choice are often superhero fantasy, urban fantasy and YA. Both his books, Hollowstone and West of Sunset, were released by Parker Publishing. Upkins served as a contributor for Ars Marginal, Black Girl Dangerous, Prism Comics, Geeks Out, Nerds of Color. Org, Nashville Geek Life, and Comicbook.com.
Patricia D. Eddy fuels her writing with copious amounts of caffeine-she lives in Seattle, after all-and rewards herself with good Scotch and red wine. In between writing, editing, and mentoring other authors, she runs around lakes, reads late into the night, and is terribly addicted to Doctor Who and Sherlock. Her quirky-but-not-British husband never gives her grief for working long hours or occasionally talking to herself when she has disagreements with her characters.
Join author Wt Prater as he hosts this edgy, woefully delicious talk held in the whispers of the night each Thursday at 10pm central. OH, THE WOE!

Folks, it's been a rare couple of weeks. Patricia and I edited each other's work (Patricia's been my editor since the beginning), and while my edit was easy...hers was tough. She even shared her feelings on her website (spoiler: I may have a voodoo doll with red hair and my name on it inside her desk drawer). Dems da hard words, my friends. But like any true author, Patricia is hard at work, resculpting her second book in the Elemental Shifter Series. And she's rockin' the rewrite like the bad mother-plotter she is.
Oh, and did I mention that I wrote 16.5K words in a day? Yes, I was barely standing—well, sitting—afterwards, and we talk about how to increase your efficiency and set yourself up for exponential growth in word count.
Want to write more? Do more with your story? Break out of the rut? Listen in--we're good for your writing.
It's an editor's soapbox kind of episode, gang. I've had a few thoughts about professional editors (and authors) to get off my chest, and I let loose! Tune in to hear something things that have been bothering me about those who call themselves "editors," the professionalism and craft of writing, and why we're all in this together. Also, Patricia just got back from Ireland, the setting in her next book in her werewolf series. We discuss setting and why it can be beneficial to actually visit your story's playground.
