For weeks we have been sharing #grlpower Turn Up the Volume and today all the conversations, the posts and the combined efforts of many of us come together to talk, to celebrate and to use our voices to proclaim that THIS IS NOT OKAY! Day 2 and Our guests today are: Co Founder of the not for profit organisation Village Artisan, Tasha Cox joins Susan & Nicole to not only talk about International Day of the Girl and #grlpower Turn Up the Volume and the work their organisation does in India. At Village Artisan they believe that it is possible to make a difference. They share an appreciation for the beauty of traditional crafts, yet have a conscience regarding their environment and the people who live in it. The beauty and uniqueness of these products are a result of many handicraft traditions practiced in India and passed down from generation to generation. Plus we have Jane Kennedy, founder of A Girl and Her World, joining us to host this live conversation. Jane brings so much depth in this arena, not only does she run an amazing organisation, she also works for an Aid and Humanitarian organisation so her world is full of understanding and bringing solutions to the table.
From our first prayers, to baptism, to learning how to 'be' in a church service, we all have some kind of experience that we could talk about or relate to. How we navigate that experience to where we are today in our faith journey often looks very different from where we started. This is not to do away with our childhood faith, experiences or religious upbringing, but rather to begin to discuss and share how that faith journey has shaped us into what we now idenfiy with as faith.
Where has faith taken you? Where has faith deterred you? What molds your faith? How can we as women connect with other women to hear our faith stories outside the context of church? This weeks guest brings a story from Kenya to Peru to Pittsburgh to California. Grace is Global. Welcome to the show Cecilia Wandiga Cox.

Dylan Perry is the Associate Director of Lasallian Volunteers-- a Catholic formation program for educators and social service professionals through the De La Salle Christian Brothers. He oversees and supports 53 longterm volunteers in 28 ministries across 17 states. The program supports and develops young educators and leaders in the areas of Faith, Service, and Community over the course of 1-2 years of service. Dylan served as a Lasallian Volunteer after graduating with his B.A. from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He served as a counselor and teacher in an inner city Catholic High School in Philadelphia. His faith had always been an important motivator for service and his academic study of religion, and the force that called him to volunteer. However, the experience of living in intentional religious community coupled with purposeful reflection and development as an educator, leader, and servant made my year in Philadelphia one of the most formative of his life so far. After that year, he moved to Little Rock to get a Masters in Public Service, motivated by his year as a teacher. It was almost providential that when he completed school, the position that he currently holds opened and he is able to use his knowledge, passion, and skills to support and help form up and coming educators, leaders, and servants motivated by a call for justice and strengthened his the faith and zeal of God.
