Popular Singer Dwele Explains How Love Song Lyrics Can Influence Relationships

    in Women

Women often say men don't express emotions, but listen to the love ballads by popular male vocalists and you'll hear some heart wrenching feelings pouring out. Today's guest, the popular singer Dwele, with fans among the hip hop generation as well as the R & B crowd, discusses how today's music influences attitudes about relationships. Do the more sexually graphic tunes with emphasis on physical pleasure and less focus on personal feelings influence youth to seek out such superficial relationships? Do love ballads help men recognize their sensitivity and strive to be more loving towards women? Can music influence woment to lower their own moral standards and accept relationships that are little more than "one night stands" if a popular song encourages it? As Dwele prepares to entertain audiences in Africa, he looks at the cultural impact of music on expectations in relationships, and how a song can heal the hurt and help couples reconcile, if the words truly come from the heart.

LaDonna Raeh kicks it with the talented and sexy Dwele

    in Entertainment

As one of R&B's smoothest singer-songwriter-producers, Dwele has crafted so many romantic ballads, from "Find A Way" to "I'm Cheatin'," that it might be difficult to see the soulful tenor as anything other than a modest poet.    Tune in to Life and the Public Figure as Dwele talks to LaDonna Raeh about how he locked himself into the studio and came out with his fifth album…Greater Than One.   On the first single, "What Profit," Dwele's familiar warm vocals come alive over a strolling guitar and easy two-step drums.   "The hook says 'What profits a man to gain the whole wide world and lose his girl? If I was your man, I'd do all that I can to keep you,' " he says. "It's related to the bible verse that states 'What profits a man to gain the world but lose his soul.' " "We shot 'What Profit' with Mike City, who co-wrote the song, along with Phife from A Tribe Called Quest, who has a remix verse," Dwele says. "In the clip, I play a guy who's got too much going on and stops paying attention to his girl."   Now, gearing up to spread the word about "Greater Than One," the Detroit native will hit the road making stops across the United States, where fans can grab his mini-album as well as "Greater Than One," which hit shelves on August 28, 2012.   This interview you won't want to miss!

Rhonda Thomas was a featured soloist and background vocalist

for Isaac Hayes for 11 years before his untimely passing. Rhonda

served in that capacity while remaining extremely focused on

elevating her solo musical career. Issac Hayes wholeheartedly

supported Rhonda’s desire to spread her wings musically. He

commented, “Her voice has a wide range. She has the quality,

vocal timbre and vibrato of Denise Williams when she goes high.

There are a lot of vocal sounds in this young woman. Jazz-wise

she can scat too!” Additionally, in Isaac Hayes’ review of “Breathe

New Life” he further expressed, “WOW, a human voice singing

songs of substance... Hats off to production, musicianship,

arrangement, vocals and don’t miss the lyrics, it’s a breath of

    fresh air.”

    singing live.

She wears her influences like an elegant gown draped with

the improvisational skill and vocal acrobatics of Sarah Vaughn

and Al Jarreau, and the depth and emotional effectiveness of

    Phyllis Hyman and Chaka
