Dusty Winchester is the name that rings bells in the Queen City Metro area. He has a rare, eccentric, lyrical quality that you are truly missing out on if you haven’t caught one of his performances. He bombards the stage with vehemence, and an old-school flava that the crowds welcome during each performance. They roar and jeer while chanting his name, “Duuuuusty! Duuuuusty! Duuuusty!” You don’t typically see this type of arousal from locals; however, Dusty picked up on t

In the "Elmer Dessens was a nightmare for sabermetrics long before Aaron Cook" edition, Jeffrey and Chris consider turning the podcast into a morning drivetime zoo crew show. Next we consider how the Mets should adjust their lineup for Chris Young (turns out the answer was just wait a few hours for the entire outfield to get hurt), discuss which bullpen arms might be hittin' the ol' dusty trail, and talk about our trip(s) to Manchester, NH to see the B-Mets. We also answer your e-mails, and Chris puts in a spectacular performance during Mets trivia.
This week, Arif & Dusty are joined by erstwhile producer James Pogatshnik for a meeting (and spring cleaning) of the minds. On the clipboard this week: AP's groin surgery, more draft rumors, and some fun thought experiements surrounding whether or not draftees should be paid and what one should pay them, as well as what constitutes a "character problem" so serious that a draftee might not be worth drafting?

Nearly five months ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dave Williams of Jellyfish Games - still the longest interview ever on Game Academy Radio. Since then, some things have changed regarding Astrobase Command, but the game is making great progress all the same. Despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, the game has been greenlit over at Steam Greenlight and is on its way to being released as an 'Early Access' title on Steam.
There's a lot to talk about and a lot to learn about the current state of this remarkable game. Join us live, won't you
Hosted by Dusty Wright, Game Academy Radio is the official weekly radio show of GameAcademy.com.
What would you do if you woke up in the morning to discover YOU'RE A MILLIONAIRE!
Imagine if you lived in an debt-ridden farming community and you suddenly became incredibly wealthy. That's what happened to the farming village of Sodeto that sits perched atop a dusty out cropping of land in Northeastern Spain, it's barely a dot and consists of about 240 people. Identical stone houses and barns sit in a row, automobiles caked with mud. There are no signs of wealth.
ON DEC 22, 2011 AT 9:57 A.M., the ENTIRE POPULATION OF SODETO BECAME WINNERS OF THE LARGEST LOTTERY IN THE WORLD...
EL GORDO (THE FAT ONE)!
EL GORDO dishes out...etc.
2011, everyone in Sodeto held...etc.
How Spain's lottery works...etc.
Who missed out not winning...etc.
Did winning make people change...etc.
