Cady Huffman joins Let's Do Lunch! at Gaby Brasserie Francaise to talk about her fabulous one-woman show, Hungry and Horny! Cady tells host Robin Milling about her passion for food which began with her mother and grandmother's homemade meals growing up in Santa Barbara.
Food is life and love to Cady and she performs it all in song for one night only at 54 Below in New York City. In the show she explores her relationship to food such as grappling with the loss of her ex husband's cooking. She jokes, 'After 17 years of marriage I found myself 'divorced and hungry!' Cady talks about her dating escapades and how she's moved on.
Cady talks about her wondrous musical theater career which began as a teenage drag queen in La Cage Aux Folles and most recently as a Burlesque dancer in The Nance. Her dancing accomplishments began with Bob Fosse in Big Deal.
Gaby's Chef Sylvain Harribey, former winner of the Food Network's Chopped serves a delicious tasting and wine pairing. Beginning with butternut squash bisque in a capuccino cup, followed by fois gras delicately rolled with proscuitto and served with a mini beaker of truffle oil to drizzle over it, lamb loin on white bean puree, and an american standard 'Frenchinized,' as Chef puts it -- a hamburger or Franburger served on a crispy baguette with brie cheese.

Thanksgiving leftovers are as much of a tradition as the holiday itself. But the last thing you need after stuffing yourself on the last Thursday in November is to do it again on Black Friday. So Chef Jill Houk is here with some recipes to ensure the day after is as healthy as possible. “One of my favorites is stuffed peppers in a rich tomato sauce,” she tells The Recipe Box host Barbara Howard. “You get fiber from the peppers and you still get to eat a moderate amount of stuffing the day after Thanksgiving. Take about six peppers—and I like to use the green ones, so they look Christmasy under the tomato sauce. Cut the tops off, then microwave them for about 10 minutes. Then take about two cups of leftover stuffing and add some leftover turkey for protein. Next you put about a half-cup of stuffing in each pepper, nestle them together in a large pot, drizzle two cups of your favorite tomato sauce around them, and cook them for about 20 minutes on the stove.”
