Cafecito Break - Dance Your Dream

    in Spirituality

Our topic today is "Dance Your Dream" with Special Guest Pastor Ben and Gavin Russom.

If I can't dance, I don't want to be a part of your revolution." - Emma Goldman

What does a Pastor, a Curator of Music, and a Shamanic Movement Coach have in common?  They are co-creating a "Dance Your Dream Party" with the intention of buidling bridges, creating an inviting unified space, and providing a safe place to dance in the segregated and gentrified neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The Rev. Ben Mckelahan is an interactive artist, fairy tale writer, and Lutheran Pastor.  Since he stumbled upon Lutheranism and Theatre of the Oppressed, Ben has been fascinated with how to use art and games to create a community that embodies God’s unconditional love. Ben serves as the pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Gavin Russon -  is a sound, visual, and music artist, originally from Providence, Rhode Island, he currently lives in New York City. He has also spent a significant amount of time based in Berlin which he considers his second home. From an early age, he became interested in experimenting with sound, image and movement and investigating the territory where the boundaries between them blur. Not surprisingly, his career has straddled many worlds and scenes. Looking beneath genre and the shifting landscape of stylistic trends, Russom's focus is really the vital energy present in all earthly things and the ecstatic nature of reality.

Have your dreams analyzed by dream expert and intuitive, Diane Brandon. Call in!

    in Spirituality

I’m an expert in intuition and personal development, but more importantly I'm an expert on dream analysis. As you know, people tend to be fascinated by dreams, even as they scratch their heads over them.  “What in the world did that dream mean?” they often ask themselves.I specialize in interpreting dreams and helping people understand their dreams and grasp what they can do with them, if anything.

I’m the author of three books, and my newest, Dream Interpretation for Beginners – Understand the Wisdom of Your Sleeping Mind, was published in March. My other two books are Intuition for Beginners – Easy Ways to Awaken Your Natural Abilities and Invisible Blueprints – Intuitive Insights for Fulfillment in Life.

I’ve interpreted dreams for over 40 years and have pored over sleep and dream research for about as long. I’ve developed my own, somewhat unconventional approach to understanding dreams and working with them and I view them as not just fascinating, but also potentially helpful to us. I never tire of speaking about dreams!

God's dream for you is much bigger than your dream

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church begins today's message speaking from II Kings 4:1 where it says, "A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

Your situation in your life today might not look good (or it may look great). Just remember, our God is a big God.

Elisha then said, "Go borrow vessels from everywhere." God will sometimes give you an illogical command. Remember God's dream for you is much bigger than what your dream is. The woman only wanted to have enough resources to get out of her crisis, but God wanted to give her enough resources to change her life.
