Nicholas Brink, PhD is an Instructor of Ecstatic Trance, Certified by the Cuyamungue Institute.
Ecstatic Trance is an altered state of consciousness induced by rapid auditory stimulation of the nervous system such as by the shaking of a rattle, or the beating of a drum. The state of Ecstatic Trance is traditionally associated with the trance used by ancient and contemporary shaman. Felicitas Goodman, the founder of the Cuyamungue Institute, added an important dimension to her research on ecstatic trance, i.e. the dimension of body posture. In her examination of ancient and primitive art, she identified what she believed to be postures used by shaman and discovered that specific postures have specific effects on the trance experience: some postures are for bringing healing energy into the body, others for journeying to other worlds, some are for divination, others for initiation or death-rebirth experiences and some are for metamorphous or shape-shifting. We all are capable of using these powers that were once believed to be available only to the shamans. As an instructor for the Institute, I teach the use of these postures for answering questions, healing and personal growth.

Nicholas Steele was an ordinary guy - Wait! Cancel that. Nicholas Steele was living the “perfect life” - beautiful wife, incredible son, prestige and plenty of money in his career, and a juicy social calendar. When illness struck and cut his career short. And left him debilitated.
During the long, slow recovery from that illness, Fate hit him again, in the form of a lightning-struck tree that fell on him and left him paralyzed from the neck down, a quadriplegic.
He received the dreaded sentence that he would never walk again.
But Nicholas Steel refused to believe them. He refused to give up. His wife, broken-spirited, bailed on him, and he refused to give in.
But there was something he did have… More than one thing… And with enduring steeled-determination, he bested the gargantuan odds, and walks again.
The unbreakable man of steel is at it again.
He walks, he talks, he loves like he’s never loved before.
Part human / part machine, like the bionic man, they were able, this modern Man of Steel has more 4 inch steel screws holding him and his torso together than most will see in a lifetime.
And today he’s on a mission sharing his specific secrets - more than the some “things” that he did still have, the mindset he adopted, and the will that allowed him to persevere.
He story is riveting. His story will touch your heart and stir the proud marvel on what the human spirit can accomplish.
