In his letters to his former wife and other close relatives back in the USSR, Dovlatov shares his observations on life in America, the meaning and boundaries of freedom and much more. Though written more than a quarter century ago, these letters give a lot of insight into how Russians perceive America, and what it is that makes America the country that it is. Combined with the great talent of Sergei Dovlatov, these letters are a perfect jumping off point for a discussion about America. In Russian.
