Dirt Uncovered - episode #1, Josh Richards

    in Professional

Growing up around racing, Josh Richards was exposed to one of the fastest growing and largest chassis manufacturers in dirt late model racing, Rocket Chassis. Rocket Chassis quickly rose to the prominence in the late 90s and early 2000s. After an impromptu test session in 2003, Josh showed his aptitude behind the wheel of a super dirt late model. That quickly led to his first start later that year. Fast forward to 2009 and Richards won his first World of Outlaws dirt late model championship. Success continued to 2013 with his best effort to date, 17 wins and another World of Outlaws title. Weeks before the start of the 2014 season, Richards found out that he would sidelined for the 2014 season due to a medical condition. During 2014 Richards stayed at the Rocket Chassis shop building cars and learned more about the consultation business and customer service. Once he was medically cleared, Richards returned to the wheel of the Rocket house car and the end of the 2014. After being off for an entire year, Richards quickly learned in 2015 that team chemistry isn't something that can be regained quickly. It was a season of learning and development for the Shinnston, WV racer. At the conclusion of the 2015 season, Richards finished 2nd in World of Outlaws dirt late model points. His work wasn't done though. R&D on a newly designed chassis was top priority at Rocket Chassis. After an exhaustive off season of development on the Rocket Chassis XR1 chassis, Richards quickly returned to victory lane with 10 wins and leading the World of Outlaws points as of this podcast. Enjoy the story of Josh Richards, one of the brightest stars in super dirt late model racing.
