It was planned to look like a suicide.
But even in the best-laid plans, evidence is left behind…
Jocelyn Branham Earnest was found dead on the floor of her living room in Forest, Virginia. By her side was a gun and a suicide note—typed, lacking a signature, and with one fingerprint on it. A fingerprint apparently belonging to Jocelyn’s estranged husband…
Wesley Earnest was a respected high school administrator, poised to restart his life in a new community. Parents entrusted their children to his care and believed he was above reproach. But the investigation into the life the couple once shared would reveal adultery, troubled finances, and shattered dreams—enough for one man with murder on his mind to travel hundreds of miles…UNDER COVER OF THE NIGHT-A True Story of Sex, Greed and Murder-Diane Fanning
The mission of "Promote This! With Jennifer Perry" is to show authors different ways to promote their books, and introduce authors who can share useful tips, and while they’re here we get to talk about their books, characters and what’s new.
The writing life can be a solitary one. Attending conferences can keep you up to date on trends, developments and key players in writing, publishing and media in general. It is a wonderful means to reconnect with a lot of acquaintances in one busy day or weekend.
Even better when one is asked to appear as a featured speaker, panelist or guest, and if you’re really known and well respected in your genre your presence may be requested at conferences of a different nature.
Diane Fanning's millions of fans know that she’s one of America’s premier Crime novelists and True Crime authors. Though she gets out to courtrooms, bookstores, and writer’s events, that’s not all. Last October Fanning made a special appearance as part of the Crime Lab Detective Exhibit at Donald W. Reynolds Library located at 300 Library Hill, Mountain Home, Arkansas. She has served on the executive committees of the Writers’ League of Texas and the Heart of Texas chapter of Sisters in Crime and is also a member of Mystery Writers of America.
Join us as we talk with Fanning about personal appearances, conferences and commitees and how they build an author's platform. As for me, I've read almost all of her 21 books and interviewed her for my blog and am thrilled to have Diane Fanning on the show!

On Win's Women of Wisdom today, Best-Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Diane Ashley. She holds a Master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. She also has first-hand experience with emotional trauma. Although a survivor of child abuse, her greatest challenge with grief and loss came when her oldest son drowned. Diane has spent much of her life helping those who hurt. She has assisted low income youth and adults with free counseling services, and gives emotional support to those who have suffered trauma. The purpose of Diane’s book, How to Help Someone Who is Grieving, is to help others who grieve, enlighten people to what grief really is, and teach helpers what some of the positives and some of the not so positives are, when interacting with someone who hurts. Shortly after its release, the book was adopted by the Sparks Nevada Sheriff’s Department as a training tool to help officers hurting after the loss of deputy’s within their department, and to also train in how to help someone dealing with grief. Currently, Diane lives with her husband Ron, and their two German Shepherds whom her husband fondly refers to as “their kids”. To learn more about Diane email her at email@example.com. True Crime author, Diane Fanning, had several communications with serial killer Tommy Lynn Sells. Through that correspondence Sells confessed to the murder of a little boy whose mother had been convicted and sentenced for his death. Through the evidence and statements collected, her testimony was instrumental in setting free an innocent woman. She writes about the case in her book Through the Window. Fanning says Sells went through his religious “phase” in prison, but it didn’t last. Why?
