Does your child(ren) influence who you date? How much do you consider your child's opinion about who you date? If your child doesn't approve of who you're "considering" getting serious with, do you no longer date that person? At what point do you introduce this person to your child(ren)? Do you have a conversation with your child when considering 'getting serious" with him/her?
"Darryel's Daily Dialogue...where positive words, manifest positive action."
'Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander' returns next week, 29 December---
"The Dialogue" is a 2 hr. Special tonight!
It's SOLSTICE time------Winter in the NoHem, and Summer in the SoHem----
What is Solstice? Why is it so important to the Pagan people of the world? How do we observe/celebrate it? What kind of connection does it have to Christmas? In fact, what is the connection of Paganism to the other spiritual paths and religions, all around the planet?
These, and more topics, such as ancestors and reincarnation, the current ascension and the 5th dimension, the New Age and our part in it, will be talked about-----
Karen Christine Patrick, Ken Withrow, Bret Colin Sheppard, and Ruthann RA Amarteifio bring our own understandings, and queries, to these topics!!
'Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander' returns 29 December---
We have a SPECIAL 2-HR. SHOW tonight on "THE DIALOGUE"
"ATLANTIS: The Albanian Connection."
All the world over, do we crave to celebrate the winter as a "Season of Light" because of terrrible cataclysms of the past? The Albanian language is very old and holds important keys to mysteries of human origins, previously overlooked and suppressed. We interview Skender Hushi, author of a book about Atlantis, called 'Atlantide in Albanian'.http://tinyurl.com/hushiatlantisbook. Assisting with translation will be Bashkim Kllobocishta, also a researcher in this area of study.
Hosts Karen Patrick, Ken Withrow, Ruthann RA Amarteifio and guest Bret Sheppard will be there on hand to ask important questions about ancient human origins.
Dialogue is the art of putting words in the character's mouths. It helps the writer tell the story and is a great way to reveal back-story (what happened to bring the characters to this point). Dialogue is also used to refer to a situation that one or more of the characters already knows about, but the reader does not. Sometimes dialogue is used to hint at what might come. Writing compelling dialogue can be challenging, because it often is not the way people really speak. As a vehicle that moves the story along, it shouldn't be dull, boring or too lengthy.
Our guest for this show is Mike Dennis, who writes outstanding dialogue. Mike is the author of eight mystery books and multiple short stories. He also is a narrator for audio books and a former professional musician.
We will discuss how to create dynamic dialogue in books--do's, don't's and tips and techniques. In addition, with Mike's expertise in audiobooks, we will touch on the importance of doing it right if the book is also planned as an audiobook.
Call-ins to the live show are welcome.
1st hr.-----'Left Turn w/Stewart Alexander'
2nd hr. 'The Dialogue'
X"Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander' once again has Al Suarez, activist and author, as a guest.
Stewart and Al will be discussing:
'The Cracks in the American Empire'
From racism to abuse of the elderly, from fracking to education, from GMOs to 'Big Pharm', how many more cracks snd how much deeper, until we admit the system is totally broken? Some of the topics under discussion----What do YOU think?? Give a call in!
XThis week on 'The Dialogue'
"Climbing into Alternative History"
Bret Sheppard and Karen Patrick, http://cavernkindred.blogspot.com/ ,have been working on an art project to get into the mindset of the ancestors by re-creating ancient cave paintings on altered paper. Bret observes that the ancients had keen observation about the world around them. There are many accounts of how humans had to live underground during the ice age, that previously sophisticated societies "devolved" during this time and modern interpretations of history are hiding this story. Bret, Karen, Ruthann RA Amarteifio and Ken Withrow explore this aspect of human origins.
1st hr.-----"Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander'
2nd hr.----"The Dialogue"
X 'Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander' has Al Suarez, political commentator and social activist, returning to continue, with Stewart, the discussion on:
The Post Ferguson Grand Jury Decision; a Nation Fed Up.
During this hour, we will discuss the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. We will also discuss why whites are standing side-by-side with blacks across the nation to express their anger against the American injustice system.
X 'The Dialogue'
What would happen if industrial nations tried a new B.I.G. idea? What about a program of a Basic Income Guarantee to create a permanent citizen safety net? What would happen if each working adult were assured $2500 per month, as basic living stipend. What would happen? How would we, as a nation, pay for it? Would people even go to work? Victor Hugo said, "Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come."
Join Karen Cjhristine Patrick and Ruthann RA Amarteifio with guest Bret Sheppard, as they discuss this intriguing idea.
Stephen King says, "Writing dialogue is an art as well as a craft." The same holds true for use of dialogue in speeches. One has to be careful not to come off as a one man show but well placed dialogue can spice up a speech and make it more interesting for an audience. It's particularly effective in humorous speeches. This morning we discuss ways to spice up your speech including the use of dialogue and different voices.
