"Simple Ways To Teach Gratitude to Children."
Children who learn to reach out and help others are more aware of what they DO have! Often, this knowledge alone makes them more grateful. Parents, there are many ways to model "thanksgiving" and encourage it in their children as kids grow to be adults. Kas Winters, The Sneaky Mom, shares simple ways to create a feeling of thanks on November 5th at 1pmEST here on Word of Mom Radio.
Kas is part of our fabulous rotating Wednesday platform of shows and knows that children learn best when they think they are playing, so we can look forward to creative ways to foster the attitude of gratitude in our kids. Listen to host Michael Harris as he interviews artist and sculptor Nina Winters. Nina was born and raised in New York City and studied art at the College of Fine Art and Architecture at Cornell University, Parsons School of Design, The School of Visual Arts and Hunter Graduate School. She has traveled extensively in Europe, Africa and South America. Her sculptures mirror her broad world-view of the cultural and environmental aspects of life. Early in her life she developed a strong interest in painting, sculpture and architecture and began her career as an artist in the field of paint and color, before focusing on three-dimensional art after having a vision of monumental sculpture enduring through time as positive communications to society.

Our special guest on A Kind Voice on Music is the wonderful Upstate Rubdown. These folks are a diverse group of musicians dedicated to creating fun acoustic pop music, with creative rhythms and harmonies. The band combines backgrounds in Jazz, Gospel, Folk, Bluegrass, Latin, Show Tunes, and Classical music, with a shared love of Soul, Motown, and classic R and B, to create a uniquely enjoyable sound. Imagine the Lennon Sisters meet Mumford and Sons with Bob Willis and The Texas Playboys to have sixteen espressos then listen to Django Rienhart albums. Let the dancing begin!
Host Mitch Ruth will ask members of the group about busking, upstate New York winters, their current projects. With luck, he will also seek an answer to the eternal question, "Where did my drink go?"
