Write On the Edge w/ Denny Upkins and Patricia Eddy

    in Books

Write on the Edge is a blog talk radio show that features GLBTQ, BDSM, and Erotica authors, characters, and issues.  An edgier, more adult, and taboo radio show, WOE is intended for an adult audience because of its saucy conversations and riskier subjects.

This week's guests are Denny Upkins and Patricia Eddy!

Dennis R. Upkins is a speculative fiction author and an Atlanta, Ga. native. A lifelong geek and a hopeless comic book guy, his genres of choice are often superhero fantasy, urban fantasy and YA. Both his books, Hollowstone and West of Sunset, were released by Parker Publishing. Upkins served as a contributor for Ars Marginal, Black Girl Dangerous,  Prism Comics, Geeks Out, Nerds of Color. Org,   Nashville Geek Life, and Comicbook.com.

Patricia D. Eddy fuels her writing with copious amounts of caffeine-she lives in Seattle, after all-and rewards herself with good Scotch and red wine. In between writing, editing, and mentoring other authors, she runs around lakes, reads late into the night, and is terribly addicted to Doctor Who and Sherlock. Her quirky-but-not-British husband never gives her grief for working long hours or occasionally talking to herself when she has disagreements with her characters.

Join author Wt Prater as he hosts this edgy, woefully delicious talk held in the whispers of the night each Thursday at 10pm central. OH, THE WOE!

Write On the Edge is produced by WON Radio as part of Writers Online Network (WON). More information about WON is available at www.writersonlinenetwork.com They can also be found on Facebook and Twitter @won_radio and @writersonnet

Goddess Alive Radio with Author, Poet, Essayist, & Playwright Susan Griffin

    in Women

Susan Griffin is a poet, essayist, playwright and screenwriter. She was born in Los Angeles California in 1943, in the midst of the Second World War and the holocaust, and these events had a lasting effect on her thinking. The time she spent as a child in the High Sierras and along the coast of the Pacific Ocean also shaped her awareness. As she draws connections between the destruction of nature, the diminishment of women and racism, and traces the causes of war to denial in both private and public life, her work moves beyond the boundaries of form and perception. She is known for her innovative style. Her groundbreaking book Woman and Nature: The Roaring inside Her is an extended prose-poem. A Chorus of Stones: the Private Life of War, blends history and memoir as does Wrestling with the Angel of Democracy: On Being an American Citizen her most recent book (published by Trumpeter books in April, 2008.) This work explores the state of mind that engenders and sustains democracy.  Susan was also one of the Editors for Transforming Terror: Remembering the Soul of the World  released in 2011.  Connect further with Susan at SusanGriffin.com.

Goddess Alive Radio is the weekly Blogtalk Radio show for the MotherHouse of the Goddess and is hosted by Kimberly F. Moore & Tracey Paradiso of the MotherHouse of the Goddess. We focus on topics about Women’s Empowerment, Alternative Medicine, and Living Mythology – how the Goddess is moving through our lives today. Priestesses, Practitioners, Healers, and Shamans will be joining us to discuss their practices and experiences with the Goddess.

The Race Trim MotorSports Hour #20

    in Sports

The Frat House Sports Garage is open early here on Sunday – not for inspections but, for socializing – as the Race Trim MotorSports Hour mechanics sit around and chat about last week’s NASCAR results from a delayed Saturday to Sunday jog at Richmond International Raceway.

With Kurt Busch getting into the winner’s circle last week, has he now completely shook the demons of controversy that swirled around him from late last season through the beginning of this one? The “Pesky Boys” may be vulnerable as Joey Logano faded after leading 94 laps here. Truex Jr. continues to be strong, but JGR’s Denny Hamlin Toyota had to be the biggest loser. Is it just a matter of time before Jamie McMurray seals his entry into the 2015 Chase?

Today though “it’s Talladega, baby! And restrictor plate racing. Jeff Gordon’s got the pole and you got to wonder whether he finally gets a win for “The Chase.” Or, will the Native American burial ground level the field – as usual?

What’s the future of Danica Patrick as Go Daddy pulls it’s 2016 sponsorship of SHR’s #10? Uncle Mark is going Over the Wall; Sidekick’s got his Fantasy picks; and the rest of the guys are jumping in with their Eat-My-Dust Picks!

It’s back to Sunday racing which means the guys have got the double pot of coffee . . . you bring the donuts . . . and your comments to the Frat House Sports Garage . . . by giving a call to 347 - 826 - 9964!
