Walt will chat with the Assistance Vice President at Provident Credit Union, Walt Sweeny, about a Lean Six Sigma approach to Contact Center process improvement that Contact Center leaders could use to make their Contact Center be the best it can be, effectively and efficiently.
Walt Sweeny has been in the Contact Center business for over 16 years. He is currently an Assistant Vice President with Provident Credit Union in Redwood Shores California.
Previously, Walt had Contact Center assignments with Greater Bay Bank (a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank) and AT&T Broadband. Born in Brooklyn, NY grew up in NJ. Left for the Marines when I was 19, Met my wife Nicola when lived in Istanbul Turkey also lived in San Salvador, El Salvador.Early Retired Police officer due to a horrific Motorcycle accident.Co created Chow & Zen Health, Healing and Massage with my Wife in early 2011. Our concept is to help heal Mind-Body-Spirit, if we only work on one area the others get missed and or don't release the Pain trapped there. In essence Teaching people how to better care for themselves Mind-body-spirt connection entails Reiki master/teacher, massage, Shakti Initiation, Master hypnotherapist NLP practitioner, Shaman, Theta, Beachbody Coach- P90X qualified P90X certified trainer. Both my wife and I have been in serious accidents that have crippled us from actually living and enjoying our lives. Hence why we do what we do.
Dominick was also involved in another life changing accident while riding his motor bike in 2006, his was far worse. Medivacked to Morristown hospital he was in serious trouble and actually flat lined. He had broken, fractured and crushed most of the major bones in his body and his whole body swelled up to twice its normal size. After 2 days of surgeries he was in for a long recovery and was told he may not walk again normally and would be very limited with his range of motion. Dominicks attitude key to his recovery. He turned inwards, he remained positive and determined and very calm & centered throughout the whole ordeal knowing he would come out ok. After more surgeries and PT and continued TP and massage Dom eventually recovered and walks normally, can run (they said he never would) and has almost full range of motion in all limbs. To look at him today you would never know he had been through such a traumatic accident.
What can any CEO or business owner -- or any manager -- learn from the Lean movement, and especially, the growing adoption of Lean by the healthcare industry? How can you cut costs, improve quality, and boost employee engagement and work satisfaction, all at once?
My guest is Mark Graban, author of Lean Hospitals and an expert on helping firms adop Lean thinking and Lean practices.
Mark has made Lean his career focus for nearly 20 years – starting with studying Dr. Deming’s work as an undergraduate engineering student at Northwestern University, then formally studying Lean in the classroom at Northwestern and as a master’s student at MIT, and then receiving extensive on-the-job mentoring and training.
Mark has led and participated in Lean transformations in manufacturing and healthcare organizations. His books include Lean Hospitals, Healthcare Kaizen, and more.
