In the wilderness experiences of our lives, as we pour out our hearts to the Lord who collects our tears and wipes them away, we can find great comfort and intimacy with our best Friend, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the wilderness, the Lord ministers to us personally, and reveals to us things we have never heard before. While the rough times in our lives may be bitter, Jesus makes it sweet by His presence.

While we reflect on the wilderness experiences in our lives, where we encounter temptation, hard times, loneliness, and rejection, the Lord wants to reassure us not to look at the wilderness as a “bad” place, or as a negative experience, which we seek to escape as soon as we can. The Lord wants to reassure us that the wilderness can be a place where we can find peace, comfort, and joy, a place where we can grow, prosper and excel, if we allow the Lord to work in us.

In the wilderness experiences of our lives, God tests us to see if we doubt that He will provide for us. Many times when we don’t see anything happening, we start trying to "make it happen". However, the Lord wants us to have faith in His ability and desire to sustain us and bless us even through very difficult times. When we doubt Him and complain, we lose our blessings.

Jesus delivers us from the world, and He leads us into the Promised Land. But to prepare us to inherit the land, we must be purged in the wilderness. You don’t have a choice of going through the wilderness, but you can determine how long you stay. If you are obedient, you will stay only as long as the Lord deems fit. If you are disobedient and resistant, you might stay longer than God intended.

Seek Him so you can be assured of what He has called you to do, so you also can fulfill your purpose in His kingdom.

Resurrecting Manhood Today
On Friday, May 24, 2013, I had Raylan Alleman back on the show. Raylan is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Fix the Family - a lay Catholic Apostolate. We discussed Fix the Family's new video series currently in production, entitled, 'Resurrecting Manhood Today', which is geared toward men as husbands and fathers at the head of Catholic families and their particular God-given role in Catholic marriage. I was able to probe Raylan about the first three installments (Manhood Today, Sole Provider, and Budgeting-Handling Money) in their video series, and we ending up have a very good conversation about the role that God has called husbands to from the very beginning. This role that men have been called to has not changed - God hasn't changed His mind about what He wants men to do, but society has changed and has attempted to diminish, devalue, and replace the proper function of the husband. This is why Raylan is teaching that it is necessary for us to Resurrect Manhood Today. This was a very thought provoking broadcast with Raylan. Listening to the archived broadcast is definitely worth your while. The song heard at the end of the program was "Rallegrati Maria". It is a very beautiful rendition of the Hail Mary Prayer sung in Italian; composed by Antonio Failla.
