Doctor and author M. Maitland DeLand joins me this week to talk about her book: Nashville Mercy and more.
Already an Oncologist and award winning children's author, Nashville Mercy is the debut novel in Maitland DeLand's Kate Katelinson series. When a promising country music singer on the verge of stardom mysteriously dies after undergoing a routine medical procedure, Kate Katelinson, an investigative reporter for the Nashville Herald, becomes personally tied to the case. After sources connected to the reporter’s investigation start dying, Kate finds herself thrust into a twisted labyrinth of betrayal, corruption, and murder. Armed with only her investigative instincts and an unlikely alliance of friends, the reporter enters a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse with a mastermind more powerful than she could have ever anticipated.
To complicate matters, Kate finds herself torn between her brilliant ex fiancé, and a charismatic hospital executive who both may be after more than her heart.
In her debut novel, Dr. M. Maitland DeLand takes readers through a rollercoaster ride of suspense while touching upon some of the most pressing social and healthcare issues of the 21st century.

Susin W Peterson is a daycare inspector, and formal child protective investigator. She is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Over the past twenty-three years she has lived from Columbus, Ohio to Hollywood, Florida. In 1990 she gave birth to one daughter, having gone through many crises with her daughter’s health issues, and other family health issues, her life is filled with suspense, faith, uncertainty, love and lessons learned. The subject of poor health was not a familiar subject until her daughter, Amanda was born. The emotional, and physical stresses that come along with poor health, divorce, domestic violence, poor mental health, unemployment and a long list of other issues to be solved has been a vicious cycle in her life. Her story is also about how hope is found through family, friends, and the power of prayer. There are discussions about how life continues after death. But the most important message is how to live with purpose. She is a current resident of DeLand, Florida.
