In this segment, former foster youth David Hall notes that we should not be looking at why we need to extend foster care, but what we need to do when we extend foster care. In addition to not often being able go get a driver's license to transport oneself to work, it is very hard to get two forms of ID put together when applying for jobs. Here are some other ideas that David suggests during his segment:
- Whenever the young adults reach 18, they need parents who are willing to keep them until 21 when policy does not prohibit continued support given by foster parents.
- There needs to be specialized workers for young adults between the ages of 18 and 21. Some of his other suggestions include:
- We need to look at a Housing First Model
- We need to look at placing youth in extended foster care in roles where they can mentor younger foster youth and start assisting in the life skills development of younger foster youth.
David Hall is the Co-Founder of a statewide student organization at Oklahoma City University, called R is for Thursday, which supports and promotes foster youth who are in college or currently going into college. On August 19, 2012, Rusty Van Hoy became the 1st ever PCW (then GCW) World Champion. He would go on to hold that distinction an additional four times, separating him from the rest of the locker room, with a record 5 World Titles. His single reign of 161 consecutive days as World Champion, as well as his 329 total days as champion within his five reigns, both still stand as PCW records, perhaps never to be broken.
Van Hoy is a 3-time PCW World Tag Team Champion, all three with his WrestleGroup partner, Phil Vest. Together, Vest and Van Hoy still hold the PCW record for total days as tag champions in multiple reigns, carrying the straps for a combined 217 days.
Rusty has held the InterContinental Championship, he's been King of the Ring, and he's main evented WrestleMania, among many other PCW Pay Per View Events.
As a charter member of Global Championship Wrestling, later to become Prediction Championship Wrestling, Rusty Van Hoy has been a constant in our industry. Having become PCW's first ever World Champion at SummerSlam, what a fitting tribute and perfect timing. This Summer, Rusty announced his retirement from PCW. Not only will he be missed, there will certainly never be another one like him.
PCW is honored to salute the career, and the person...Rusty Van Hoy!!!

Keith McCarty joined Yamaha in 1977 and currently oversees the company's US racing operations. He will be inducted in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in October.Yamaha's Keith McCarty will be inducted to the AMA Motorcycle Hall on October 17 in Orlando, Florida, as part of the 2015 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame induction ceremony held in conjunction with the annual AIMExpo at the Orange County Convention Center.
Keith McCarty's first job as a motorcycle mechanic was for US Suzuki in 1973 for rider Mike Runyard. In 1975-76, he wrenched for AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Tony DiStefano, winning two 250cc AMA National Motocross Championships. When the motocross schedule didn't conflict, he worked with the Hall of Fame duo of Erv Kanemoto and Gary Nixon in road racing.
In January, 1977, McCarty began his long career with Yamaha as the mechanic for AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend Bob "Hurricane" Hannah. McCarty has remained in Yamaha's racing division ever since, working as mechanic, supervisor, department manager and, most recently, division manager for all of Yamaha's US racing activities.
Cameron Beaubier and Josh Hayes join us with stories and examples of who Keith McCarty is and how he has impacted their lives and their careers. They are but two talented riders of many that Keith has aided and assisted in their growth and personal development as professional motorcycle racers.
We are excited to have Keith on the show and I am certain it will be both entertaining and informative!
