        We continue our Raiders Rewind interviews from National Night Out, where we talk to some of the student-athletes of North Brunswick Township High School about what lies ahead in the new school year.


        Our special guests are North Brunswick Raiders boys soccer coach Paul Liddy and also senior defenseman G.P. Baier to talk about Tim Howard(goalkeeper of the United States men's soccer team and North Brunswick grad), and his impact on the boys soccer program, as well as all things North Brunswick soccer.


        We also have second baseman Liz Ruffe from the North Brunswick softball team to tell us what life will be like, when the Lady Raiders step onto their brand new softball field next season, after not having a true home field for the Lady Raiders over the past 14 years.

    24/7 Hockey Show with Sacha Guimond

    On August 6th, the 24/7 Hockey with have Ville-Marie, Quebec native Sacha Guimond who started his junior hockey career during the 2009 – 2010 hockey season with the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League North bay Trappers.


    In 70 games with the Trappers from 2009 – 2011, Sacha scored 24 goals and had 48 assists during the two NOJHL seasons in North Bay. Guimond played two season in the Canadian Hockey League with a stop in London with the Knights of the Ontario Hockey League in the 2010 – 2011 season and one season with Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the 2011 – 2012 QMJHL season.


    In his two seasons in the CHL, the 6’2” and 175 lbs defenseman sank 10 goals and added another 37 assists in two seasons. In 14 CHL post-season games, Guimond had one goal and 4 assists during the 2011 and 2012 CHL playoffs.


    Guimond, 22, spent the 2012-13 season with the ECHL’s San Francisco Bulls and then the Gwinnett Gladiators putting up 49 points in 58 games. He was the ECHL Defenseman of the Year and was named to both the First All-Star Team and All-Rookie Team. Guimond was both the points and assists leader in the ECHL.


    He also played six games in the AHL with the Worcester Sharks and Norfolk Admirals.


    Believe it or not, Guimond was apparently sought after by four different teams: the Phoenix Coyotes, Winnipeg Jets, Los Angeles Kings, and New York Islanders. He picked the Canucks because they offered him an AHL contract in addition to a training camp invite.

    On July 30th, the 24/7 Hockey Show will have on former NOJHL'ers Kris Barclay and Cory Marquardt on the show.


    Barclay finished his junior 'A' hockey career with the Soo Thunderbirds 2011 - 2012 NOJHL season.  The former Thunderbird defenseman has traded in travelling on buses from rink to rink and has hit the road performing with his band "Highway 12". Cory Marquardt, the travelling junior 'A' hockey player made stops in Temiscaming, North Bay, Iroquois Falls and Elliot Lake to before hitting the highway to chase his dream of becoming a muscian, check out the 'Canadian Rock Outlaw'.
