My guest is Julie Anne Smith, she was sued for defamation by her former pastor and church, Beaverton Grace Bible Church.
Julie began her blog in Feb. 2012 after noticing that the Google reviews she had posted of her former church were being removed. Days after the commencement of this blog, She received a legal summons suing her and three others for defamation to the tune of $500,000. The story of spiritual abuse needs to be told. People are being hurt emotionally and spiritually by pastors who use bully tactics and we need a place to learn, to talk freely, and to heal. I will not be silenced. Quote from Julie Anne.
Overthe past several days there has been a renewed onslaught of chatter on the internet social media sites concerning the United Nations (UN) Arms Trade Treaty. As expected, there are a rash of alarmists, pacifists, Dingbats (far left extremists) and Wingnuts (far right extremists) out there spreading all kinds of warnings and propaganda.
Just what does the Arms Trade Treaty actually say? Will the ATT really take our beloved weapons from US citizens? Are John Kerry and President Obama trying to circumvent the 2nd Amendment and using the UN as a masked partner in the effort?
This morning we will sit down and sift thru the ATT to see if we can determine Facts vs Baloney.

Are parents responsible for the online conduct of their kids? Attorney Steve weighs in on this extremely important "digital age" legal topic. Your kids need to understand basic digital etiquette and what's at stake if they go around bullying or intimdating people online, even if it is just a prank. If the parents know about something and don't take corrective measures, they might find themselves in a position facing a state or federal lawsuit for the acitivites on facebook, youtube, twitter, instagram, text messaging, or even email, carried out by their kids. For example, if your kids engage in cyberbullying or copryight infringement, could the parents be sued? Could this lead to suspension at school?
It is always important to undertand that in our litigious world anyone can be sued for anything, so it is crucial that you build a relationship with your kids, understand them as people, but also to understand what they are doing online.
You owe it to them to protect their brand and their reputation as one screw up can leave them dealing with negative internet publicity, dealing with lawsuits and potentially impacting their future career potential.
