Doe, a Deer... a Female Deer

    in Pop Culture

Birds! Birds! Birds! Marianne's Dotter finishes her story from last week about her "Alfred Hitchcock Experience" and also delves into why she hates deer (especially when she's on Acid). But those aren't the only wild creatures touched on... we discuss the Stepmonster, Mike, and a "family video" of sorts that causes blindness... and the grande dame of the family, Packy, and her "Starsky & Hutch" driving mixed in with her Joan Crawford-like "discipline" of a young Marianne's Dotter. Oh shit... we're in trouble after this show... because she's still alive... #YoureSoFuckingRude

EDIT: "Marianne's DOTTER" is SUPPOSED to be mispelled. Fuck you.

    Steering Clear of Deer

    in Travel

Vehicle collisions with deer are of the most costly and unpredictable types of crashes in the country. This week, we'll tell you where and when you're most likely to hit a deer and what NOT to do if you see one in your path. Plus, we'll trade stories of deer collisions we've experienced in the past.
Our weekly travel segment Along the Way... takes a drive down one of the most interesting interstates in America - California's Interstate 8.  In its short 170 miles, you'll see a little bit of everything, and we'll tell you the best and quirkiest places to stop while you're there.
In This Week in Travel, we'll discuss the unusual and shocking things one Arizona hotel occupant found in her room.  And we'll open up the Travel Archive to listen to more classic commercials from the 1960's. Don't miss our On the Lighter Side segment, where we'll catch up with J. Howard Carter and his latest cause for consternation.
It's another hour of roadtripping, travel, and fun on this week's episode of Road Trip Radio!

    9:00pm/Est 8:00pm/Ct 7:00pm/Mt 6:00pm/Pt
Listen and Chat go to: http://prepperbroadcasting.com/listen-chat/

Today I will do a show on my “kit” for bow hunting and why I carry what I carry.  This will not include the basic items I carry for any trip to the woods, you know basic survival stuff like water, food, etc.

I am going to stick just to my kit for archery hunting, I will say a bit on the bow too, but most of that will be on a later show.  I will also talk about the type of knife I like for deer hunting, even though you always carry a knife.  Due to how flipping busy I am this week, todays show will be a little shorter than typical.

John Carver Show - Unbelievable Focus

    in Self Help

I cannot get over the intensity of some people to stay focused for years and decades until they reach what they’re striving for in life.
“Be on guard. The road widens, and many of the detours are seductive.” ? David Foster Wallace
    “Knowing the Techniques of Survival........
Life has a way of knocking you off balance and even knocking you down from time to time.
There’s many verses, in the Bible, that talk about focus.
Psalm 42:1-2 - “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
Can you hear the desperation on the writers words?
    Psalm 63:1-4The Message (MSG)
A David Psalm, When He Was out in the Judean Wilderness
    63 God—you’re my God!
I can’t get enough of you!
I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God,
traveling across dry and weary deserts.
2-4 So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open,
drinking in your strength and glory.
In your generous love I am really living at last!
My lips brim praises like fountains.
    I bless you every time I take a breath;
My arms wave like banners of praise to you.
Desperation, many times, causes intense focus!
Washington Post (Feb 2014) - Earlier this week, fishermen near the Marshall Islands in the western Pacific found 37-year-old Jose Salvador Alvarenga adrift in a 23-foot fiberglass boat. Alvarenga had a fantastic story: He'd been lost at sea for 13 months, after setting off for a day of shark fishing near the Mexican coast where he lives, 5,500 miles away. Some have expressed skepticism about his story, but he would have been far from the first to endure such seemingly unendurable odds.

Is The Term "Thirsty" Tearing Down The Male Ego?

    in Podcasting

Tonight we're gonna be discussing the term thirst and how it's perceived. For those who aren't familar, "thirsty" is an urban term generally used to describe a man's over anxiousness in trying to pursue a woman he most lilely can't have. Well nowadays it's starting to seem like if a man tries to talk to a woman to get to know her better, if she's uninterested and he doesn't give up immediately then he's thirsty. This leaves a lot of room for debate which is why we chose to run with this topic.

So grab yourself a nice cold Deer Park because the thirst is real tonight! It's gonna be a good one and as always we're gonna keep it real so tune in!
