We're breaking down the hot design trend of global decor with experts, Taniya Nayak and creators of AphroChic, to find out how we can create global style in our homes.
On this episode of MyFixitUpLife. Our trek starts with HGTV and Food Network designer Taniya Nayak. From House Hunters on Vacation to Restaurant: Impossible to the Billion Dollar Block, Taniya Nayak is never at rest unless she is on the move.
Known for her sunny smile and sharp eye, Taniya Nayak’s knack for bringing rich textures and unexpected finishes together with practical, real-life functionality has made her a go-to expert. She is currently a part of the HGTV series 'House Hunters on Vacation' and as a featured designer on Food Network's 'Restaurant: Impossible.'
And we change planes and go ship-to-shore and more with AphroChic’s ever-eclectic Jeanine Hays and husband Bryan Mason. Taking her inspiration from the world over, Jeanine sends us postcards from the edge of design.
Offering home decor products inspired by cultures around the globe, AphroChic sets out to prove that ethnic heritage and culture can go hand in hand with the luxurious and the modern. To embody their personal vision of a new kind of design the two coined the phrase, “Modern.Soulful.Style.” – design that embraces culture and the unique admixture of the traditional and the contemporary that helps to define us all. Jeanine and Bryan are the authors of REMIX: Decorating with Culture, Objects and Soul.
Our passports are stamped. It’s time to fly. We’re going global to bring you the biggest, brightest and best designs that are trending around the world.

This is a reprise of a show about a designer and her group of volunteers. They do their job right and they do it "green". It is Beth Baker and her company Deserving Decor that does a wonderful job of giving back to the Bucks County, PA community.
Deserving Decor is a non-profit, totally volunteer organization created to repurpose, refinish and restore donated home decor items and use them to decorate and furnish 57 homeless shelters in the Doylesville, PA area.
This show will move you and motivate you to contribute to their cause or maybe start a chapter of your own in your community.
Either way, everyone wins.
Find out how Corinne rose through the ranks in her company, bought it out, ran it into the ground, and rebuilt her million dollar company!

Scared of embracing color? Does your home look like 50 shades of greige? Let's talk color with Chris & Roger Hazard.
The soft tones of greys and beiges can be calming and soothing in many places, but when your entire home inside-and-outside is shades of greige, there might be a gigantic opportunity to add a bit of your personality and your laughter-side into some of your spaces.
We're talking with designers Chris Stout-Hazard and Roger Hazard about how to dip our toes in the world of color, and how to build up the courage to make a big leap.
Roger Hazard is internationally known as an innovative designer and the star of the first real estate-related show on U.S. television, Sell This House. Roger introduced Americans to the concept of staging, igniting the real estate industry and paving the way for the dozens of real estate-focused shows currently found on cable channels. A constant collaborator with Roger, Chris Stout-Hazard leads design for their furniture and home decor company, Roger + Chris, acts as the go-to guy for all technical projects, and balances Roger's rustic style with a modern aesthetic.
You can follow Roger and Chris' adventures remodeling their historic home and see their collection of home furnishings at www.rogerandchris.com.
