Scott Cluthe LIVE tonight with Scott Barnett, founding CEO of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurants and authjor of the new book, Gumption. Call in LIVE: 347-308-8478

Written in a cinematic style, this book is about the creation, growth, and sale of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. The concept began when Paramount Pictures reached out to see if there was interest in creating a restaurant based on the movie Forrest Gump. It is also the personal story of the author's growth as a CEO and creator of restaurant concepts. A host of situations are described such as restaurant concept creation, high stakes boardroom confrontations, and escaping corrupt officials in foreign lands. The narrative is partly an unvarnished peak behind the everyday scenes of restaurants, movie studios, and Wall Street. There is also an almost step-by-step recounting of how the Bubba Gump concept and others were created and operated. Lessons can be learned on unorthodox methods used in moving from traditional approaches to untried ways of doing business.

Scott Barnett is the founding CEO of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurants. He has given talks on service, management techniques, leadership, and financial performance metrics. He has actively consulted with a number of restaurant companies worldwide, and he is a recognized expert on transactions, branding, concept development, and overall operations. He lives in Solana Beach, California.

An everyday occurrence in her my family. Both of her grandparents were gifted as well. As a child Pam would express things that were to come, or what she was seeing, and no one ever thought anything of it. It was just kind of brushed to the side as a child with a wild imagination. Later Pam realized it was far more than her imagination. She started to consider that it was God guiding her and talking to her. Pam Jenkins spent many years in study and training and now assists others in hearing and discovering their own truths. Call, listen and see if you agree that Pam has this gift in abundance!

The fascinating story of America’s love of vitamins—and how it affects our health

Should I take a multivitamin? Does vitamin C really prevent colds? Can I get enough vitamin D from the sun? Are dietary supplements safe? How much of each vitamin do I need?

There’s no question that Americans are fascinated by vitamins and nutrition – we think that vitamins are always good for us, and that the more we can get, the better. But how much about vitamins do we really know? And how might the answer to that question affect the way we eat?

When it comes to vitamins, it turns out that the experts themselves are surprisingly short on answers. Yes, we need the thirteen dietary chemicals known as vitamins; without them, we would die. Yet despite a century of scientific research (the word “vitamin” was coined only in 1911), there is little agreement around even the simplest of questions, whether it’s exactly how much of each vitamin we each require or what these chemicals actually do.
