Today, 03 December 2014, Nick & Joanna will be discussing loss and loniness during the Holiday season.
We seem to see so much loss during the holidays. When it is time for someone to leave this earth, that timing sometimes feels like it knows no boundaries in terms of what else is going on in the calender or in the lives of others who are affected. That soul leaves, and with it, a wake of sadness and grief is left to wash over family and friends who feel the loss and need to deal with the subsequent feelings and emotions, as well as the memory now associated with the holiday. It's difficult enough to deal with loss at any time of the year, but when it happens at the holidays, how do we process it in the moment and in subsequent months and years?
We will also be talking about how the holiday season can amplify feelings of isolation and loniliness, and what we can do about it. This is not always a matter of being with others. Lonliness can prevail even in a room full of other people. We need to be aware that the holidays are not a joyful or bountiful time for everyone. We will be discussing this important topic & how we can increase our compassion, understanding, and how we can reach out to those who may be suffering in silence.

Self-Control, everyone has it but everyone does not use it, especially during the Holiday Season. How do you resist temptation during Holiday Season? It is possible to walk in self control and still be more than satisfied and know that you made the right choice.
Dealing with death and loss is hard enough, but it often feels even worse over the holidays. This episode of Living Well with Dr. Peg explores the natural process of grieving with guest minister, Felicia Boyd, who offers practical strategies and insights to help ease your pain.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well... maybe not.
The holidays, with all their goodwill and cheer, may incite unpleasant memories and uncomfortable feelings for you. It's often during this time of year when the focus is all about giving, celebrating and togetherness that you may become more acutely aware of the voids in your life. Perhaps you've experienced a recent loss, such as the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a job or an opportunity. Maybe it's not loss but loneliness that you feel, and no matter how many parties you attend or how many people you're around, you still feel disconnected.
If any of this describes you, then you need to tune in today. There is a way to unplug yourself from the dread of the holidays, and my guest, Licensed Psychotherapist, Nettie Jones, is here to help you learn to cope with the voids in your life, particularly during the holidays.

MIRACLE Zone is about real life and the transition it brings. While the Holiday Season is filled with holly, jolly Christmas songs, Christmas parties, and cheer, it is also a great time of sorrow and depression for many. This time of year, companies lay off employees to make their bottom-line budget numbers and cease hiring until the new year. People go throw breakups and divorce, children continue to rebel and death does not take a holiday. Those family members and friends who have crossed over are remembered and dearly missed. Chapman, being who she is and having suffered these painful experiences in the holiday season, will share her stories in order to reach out and help others transition through. If you know someone who could use a little encouragement or not exactly experiencing the Holiday spirit, invite them to listen. 9:00 AM Pacific....12 Noon Eastern.
