Deadbeat parents are those who have been ordered by the Family law courts to pay child support monies of an unspecified amount, to the custodial parent (One who has custody of the child), but he/she is refusing to follow the order. Even when they have the financial means to do so. Question, Are you a custodial parent who's dealing with this problem in your life? Do he/she have the financial means of providing for their child/children, but still refuse to do so? Or are you a listener who would like to weigh in on this heated topic?... Well, the queens would love the opportunity to hear your story, or get your feedback, right here in the playhouse!!! "See you there"!!!!

Child support was created as a means for the care and support of children single parents. Many parents have issues with the system, with the absent parent, and even the way society views this plaguing issue. Many may struggle with either paying child support or acting indifferently because they consider it unjustified.
To make matter worst, Section 228 of Title 18, United States Code, makes it illegal for an individual to willfully fail to pay child support in certain circumstances. Accordingly, an individual is subject to federal prosecution if he or she willfully fails to pay child support that has been ordered by a court for a child who lives in another state, or if the payment is past due for longer than 1 year or exceeds the amount of $5,000. A violation of this law is a criminal misdemeanor, and convicted offender face fines and up to 6 months in prison (See 18 U.S.C. § 228 (a) (1)).
If, under the same circumstances, the child support payment is overdue for longer than 2 years, or the amount exceeds $10,000, the violation is a criminal felony, and convicted offenders face fines and up to 2 years in prison (See 18 U.S.C.§ 228(a)(3)).
Lastly, this statute prohibits individuals obligated to pay child support from crossing state lines or fleeing the country with the intent to avoid paying child support that has either been past due for more than 1 year or exceeds $5,000. (See 18 U.S.C. § 228(a)(2)). Any individual convicted of this crime may face up to 2 years in prison.
Notably, other than in the specific circumstances aforementioned, child support enforcement issues are handled by state and local authorities, and not by the federal government. Furthermore, all child support enforcement matters must be addressed at the local or state level before concerns can be raised at the federal level.

The message is clear to have dialogue about the "Deadbeat Parent Punishment Act ("DPPA"). Does everyone deserve to be called out of their name a "deadbeat?"
What we mean by this is, does this name warrant exclusions for name calling, is this a form of discrimination?
Its election time and time for a new President to arise and this subject needs looking into, to uncover does everyone that pays child support fall under the " DPPA" catagory and what are some of the issues in child support that need officials attention?
To demarcate the difference between decent people and deadbeat people when paying child support.
To find another name to call people that can't pay child support.
Does this "Act" violate the constitution under cruel and unusual punishment and involuntary servitude "Slavery?"
Is this "Act" unfair to "Decent Disadvantaged Non Custodial Parent Obligors"
Going to jail, simply because of not being able to pay their obligations, and coming out with a label and for sure not to get a job, having undue hardships place upon people, which then causes a public safety issue, because Men (Fathers) are now killing their children and the women ( Mothers), because there is no hope, no jobs, no way to control what is happening. The unemployment rates are up, according to Donald Trump, "40 percent."
We feel there is a catastrophy about to happen if our elected officials don't view this systemic issue and reopen the "DPPA" and reconstruct this act that was signed in by President Bill Clinton in 1996. To give a way of escape to decent disadvantaged non custodial parent obligors; a chance to have protection and cushion of relief from this act.
Or we all should be called deadbeats and go to jail cause we can't pay our debts.

Most people are familiar with the concept of child support – that a parent without residential custody has to pay a parent with residential custody money to support his or her child. But a recent Illinois court ruling now provides that parents who have residential custody may have not pay child support to parents without residential custody, in some cases. This podcast with attorney Kristina Regal explores when this new case law applies to divorce cases, and when it doesn’t.
Some parents are just messed up whether they're on drugs, involved with a bad lover or they're spoiled or opportunistic or whatever, it all plays out the same way. You can find yourself all in when you really and truly wanna be out.
When you can't have custody of the kids because then the parents won't have any bargaining power.
Yeah, this can get deep. Real deep and that's whether you're talking about the moms or the dad because both have the power to drive this situation and drive the concerned family and loved ones crazy.
At the end of the day we're trying to save the kids no matter what. We just have to go through the parents in order to do it.

Tonight's special guest is Deborah Dooley from Denver, Colorado, a NAASCA family member who's making her first appearance as a special guest on our show. "The support of the unity of your organization has already impacted me," she told us some time ago. "I already felt great about even making contact with you and knowing what you are doing that it gave me a refreshed hope about my own journey of healing." Deborah's a proud member of the Christian community, but also wrote me that she recognized the benefit of using a 12 step "design for living" for child abuse recovery, saying, "Many times, I have thought about how valuable it would be to have a 12 step program for abuse issues that could translate to help all people since the 12 step is so effective in its use." A 12 step program encourages belief in a Power greater than oneself, of course, but allows for a God as you understand Him. She said, "I, personally, hope to go through this 12 step program that you have developed" (please see www.ASCA12step.org). Deborah was born in Hawaii but lives in Denver now, and tells us she's the proud mother of a daughter who unfortunately ended her life in July 2013 after a long series of very traumatic circumstances. "My life up until her death was focused on getting her safe from abuse by her dad since the courts don't protect kids from this," she says, "and there's no place to turn for help at this point to protect your child. I am now working on what is the best and most expedient solution for the courts." She believes that these kinds of preventable tragedies can be stopped from happening to children and families. Deborah hopes to work toward making our country be more loving towards its children.
