RevKess and Kalisara try to bring you a wide variety of authors and artists within Paganism, including those focused on lesser-known traditions. From the Daughters of Shining Harmony website: "Filianism is the Faith of God the Mother and Her Celestial Daughter. It also incorporates the Seven Great Angels, and other feminine Angelic beings."

A Year with Dea is a companion book to Rose Petals: A Filianic Psalter. A Year with Dea provides daily meditations for followers of Dea, in the Filianic tradition. Meditations are presented with the dates of both the Filianic liturgical year and the Julian calendar.

Brythwen Sinclair is the author of A Year with Dea and Rose Petals, and will be joining us to talk about her books, as well as Filianism in general.

2/9/2016 EMT License Renewals, Dr. Martens on Federal DEA Legilslation

    in Caregiving

This webcast of EMS Live in Wisconsin was recorded on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Our first guest at 5:00 minutes into the program was EMS Office Licensing Coordinator Helen Pullen with the State of Wisconsin.  We discussed what is required to renew your EMT, paramedic, or emergency medicala responder liccense as all state licenses expire as of June 30, 2016.  The license renewal website is https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/ems/licensing/renewal.htm.

At 20 minutes into the program State of Wisconsin EMS and Trauma Medical Director Dr. Suzanne Martens joined us to explain House of Representatives bill 4365, Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medication Act.  It has been recognized that EMS technically operates outside of the current DEA rules for controlled substances for pain and seizures.  The DEA has allowed this to continue, but has stated it cannot do so without a change in the actual regulations.  A draft bill to change these regulations has been written and proposed.  The House of Representatives is processing it, and will vote in the near future.  Without this bill change, all administration of controlled substances will require radio/phone contact for an order with medical control; and the ordering and stocking of these medications will be complex and costly, with potentially every ambulance being considered an "office".  Since the majority of requests for paramedic intercepts involves controlled substances, this impacts all levels of care.  >> Click for HR4365 Toolkit and how to contact your local elected federal representative.

Co-hosts included Joe Covelli and Patrick Ryan, and the program lasted 30 minutes.

Life as a DEA agent & human trafficking survivor

    in Travel

Today we will share the legacies of two individuals who have put themselves on the frontlines in the fight against the crimes of drug and human trafficking. Robert Mazur served 27 years as a Federal Special Agent for the IRS, Customs Service and Drug Enforcement Administration.  Five of those years were spent under-cover as Bob Musella, a high-rolling mob-connected big shot who infiltrated the criminal hierarchy of Colombia’s drug cartels.  Bob’s under-cover stings proved critical in the conviction of General Manuel Noriega and helped cripple an international multi-billion money laundering outfit that served drug lords like Pablo Escobar.  His book, The Infiltrator, provides vivid and nail-biting details about his life in the criminal under-world, including events that led to a $500,000 contract being placed on his head.

More than three decades after India won freedom and independence from Great Britain, a little girl from the southern region of India was stolen from her family and became a slave.  She was seven years old.  She lost her home and her identity.  She kept only her first name – Rani. When Rani lost her value to her slave owner, he sold her to an American woman who thought she was legally adopting an orphan.  This adoption saved Rani’s life and the love and support she received in her new home has cultivated a commitment to become an advocate for the voiceless victims of human trafficking and a leader in the movement to end modern slavery.

DEA agent -Author James O. Born & "Scent of Murder" LIVE -Authors on the Air

    in Books

James O. Born knows what he's writing about.  He is an agent with the DEA and a highly regarded author of fiction.  Authors on the Air host Pam Stack chats with author James O. Born LIVE on Monday, April 20th at 8pm ET. Here is more about James.   When I was new to police work, as an agent with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, I had an unrealistic view of what my job would be like. On television, DEA agents are in shoot-outs and get the chicks but in real life they follow suspected drug violators around until they can make a case. If you're a new guy, no one in the DEA much cares about family life or other interests, you just drive. I read a lot of Tom Clancy and W.E.B. Griffin because I liked the idea of learning something about the military. I would read the occasional police book but felt the books didn't reflect my experience as a cop. I was not a CIA trained assassin. I could not rip a shotgun out of someone's hands without suffering a catastrophic injury. I didn't crawl out of crushed police cars and shake off the injury. Neither did any cop I knew. So I wrote a book based on real police work with a ficitonal plot. Buy James's books here http://amzn.to/1zxiA29.

PMP: Alex Bledsoe & Tuatha Dea - From The Hum and the Shiver to Tufa Tales

    in Spirituality

About The Hum and the Shiver (from http://alexbledsoe.com/the-tufa/the-hum-and-the-shiver/ ): "No one knows where the Tufa came from, or how they ended up in the mountains of East Tennessee.  When the first Europeans came to the Smoky Mountains, the Tufa were already there.  Dark-haired and enigmatic, they live quietly in the hills and valleys of Cloud County, their origins lost to history.  But there are clues in their music, hidden in the songs they have passed down for generations… "

Tuatha Dea wrote music based on Alex Bledsoe's trilogy, taking inspiration from the stories he wrote.

Join RevKess and Kalisara as we talk to Alex and Tuatha Dea to learn more about Alex's writings, as well as the music that it inspired.

SPORTS Chat: DEA surprise NFL Inspections to violations of federal drugs laws

    in Baseball

In an unprecedented move the DEA has staged surprise NFL inspections reported ESPN nov. 16, 2014. The U.S. federal Drug Enforcement Administration conducted surprise inspections on Sunday which targeted the medical and training staffs of visiting NFL teams. The DEA wanted to determine whether there were any violations of federal drug laws which govern the handling and distribution of prescription painkillers.

These inspections by the DEA were motivated by allegations which were raised in a May 2014 federal lawsuit which was filed on behalf of several established NFL players. These players alleged NFL team physicians and trainers routinely gave them painkillers in what was an illegal manner in order to mask injuries and keep them playing. DEA spokesperson Rusty Payne has said DEA agents have been interviewing NFL team doctors in various locations as part of an ongoing investigation into possible violations of the Controlled Substances Act.

It was acknowledged by spokesmen for the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers that DEA agents showed up to inspect their medical staffs after their games on Sunday. These were random checks of team physicians in order to determine if anyone has been transporting controlled substances across state lines. The DEA is responsible under the Controlled Substances Act for ensuring that registrants who possess, prescribe and dispense controlled substances are abiding by the law.

The inspections entailed bag searches and questioning of team doctors by

Administration agents reports washington post The inspections were based on suspicion that NFL teams have been dispensing drugs illegally in order to keep players on the field which is a violation of the Controlled Substances Act. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the teams cooperated with the DEA and there was not any information to indicate that irregularities were found.

PTRN-Circle Talk( Interfaith Awareness)/Pagan Music Project (Tuatha Dea)

    in Spirituality

    Pagans Tonight Radio Network presents:

8PM CST - Circle Sanctuary's Circle Talk:  Interfaith Awareness - Join Deb Rose and special guests for a discussion on building Interfaith relationships on this anniversary of the signing of the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

9PM CST - Pagan Music Project: Tuatha Dea needs a NEW TRAILER in order to continue to tour and perform for our fans in the US!The Tuatha Dea family has come leaps and bounds in it's short life span and we never thought we'd find ourselves touring about the US (and beyond) when we started making noise 4 years ago...and 2015 is gearing up to be our biggest year yet! However, we remain self produced and self operated. This means skating by on a shoe string budget just to get to our fans. Our poor, decrepit borrowed trailer is now on its last leg (or wheel) and we finally have no choice but to upgrade to move our gear and ourselves if we are to continue to take what we do to our friends, fans and family about the states. The funds we are seeking will be directed entirely toward a new trailer capable of making this happen. Due to the amount of equipment and gear used to produce the Celtic, Tribal, Gypsy Rock experience we will be seeking to purchase a double axle 14 foot trailer that can move it all without the constraints and problems we contend with at present. Though we've made every show to date, breakdowns, flats, and constant repairs have been constant issues and we can't continue unless we upgrade. So we turn to you to help us make our continuing tours a reality.
