    Redondo Beach Lobster University

    in Current Events

Our guests this morning are Mickey Marraffino, Lucy Lobster and Leilani Lobster from Redondo Beach Lobster University.

Mickey Marraffino is the Dean of Lobster University which started two years ago when one of the Original Lobster Ladies brought up the need to bring in some new blood, creating a more consistent experience during the Lobster Festival. More lobsters meant more fun!

Together, our three guests developed the curriculum for Lobster University - a 3 month program culminating with the 3 day Lobster Festival which takes place this year from Sept 25 through September 27.

The Lobsters began gracing the Lobster Festival 20 years ago and have been a steady form of entertainment for both children and adults. Getting a photo with the lobsters is one of the best parts of the Festival. This year, they are fortunate to have the first mother /son lobster team.

Lucy Lobster has been working the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival or 17 years. Her expertise includes dancing, greeting, hugging and high fiving! Lucy brings joy and smiles to all attendees of the Lobster Festival.

Leilani Lobster was born in Maine and was brought to Redondo Beach Lobster Festival in 2000. Leilani loves having her picture taken with all her fans and loves to take over the dance floor and dance all night.

The current Lobster University students will be rehearsing at the RB Chamber Regional Mixer, a week from today on Wednesday, Aug 26 at 5:30 p.m. at Seaside Lagoon..

For additional information on Lobster University, send an email to info@lobsterfestival.com.

    Anti-aging Red Light Therapy

    in Weight Loss

Infrared lights can easily penetrate the skin, and thus it can work effectively in repairing the damaged nerves and tissues under the skin. Because of this very effective method, your skin’s appearance will greatly improve and blemishes can be reduced too. In fact, if you are experiencing any body pain, the infrared light can also soothe this condition as well.

    The Claim
Red light therapy systems claim that they can delay the signs of aging and treat acne. By using infrared light, a burst of energy is delivered to the body’s tissues triggering a response for the body to heal from inside. This system is different from laser technology as it doesn’t cut any of the body’s tissues. And it is different from the sun’s rays too as it has no harmful UV components. Red light therapy is a non-invasive method of anti-aging treatment and it promises to get rid of wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, and even acne on the skin.
