Women in Solutions - a healthy way to heal

    in Self Help

Welcome to Women In Solutions!  My name is Suzanne Marie and I am the host here.  For years I have wanted to help other women with whatever issues that they are having in their life because there were times in my life where I had problems and could not find solutions.  I struggled alot in the past with addiction of all kinds, sick relationships that were unhealthy and violent, running this way, running that way - never really knowing who to turn to - who I could trust - hitting brick walls - I believe that all of my issues have come from my childhood and I believe that that goes for everyone!  We bring into our adulthood all the garbage that is still hanging onto us - it is time to bring about a soluton now!  And, that is why I have created this radio show....just for that...for all women out there who would like to share their stories here and then working together to find solutions to help us find a better way of life - a life filled with peace, happiness some balance instead of the chaos that has surrounded so many of us in our lives.  I invite you to call in and share - you are able to remain anonymous if you so chose. . this is a safe haven - a place of refreshment and upliftment!  It is hopefully a place to heal and become your true, authentic self!

Education Canaries: Can data rich systems predict and prevent failure?

    in Education

One of the significant promises of big data in education is to predict and prevent student failure. Of course we want to see learners succeed and data can help us with that as well, however, catching students before they get lost or even drop out is essential. Some visionaries see technology as driving learning through increasingly intelligent prompts, assessments of learning, and directing learners to ever more complex and advanced concepts… all driven by models for learning driven by student generated data. More recently many educational leaders have a more holistic view of data and recognize that while we need to educate the whole child, we need to also look at information about the whole child to diagnose and address learning deficiencies and help students on a path where they can be successful. Beyond their inherent interest in helping children, educators and the institutions in which they work are being held accountable to show learner progress. In this show we will explore the many different kinds of data that can be used to monitor student progress, identify those who require assistance, and the systems that make sense of those data to support educators and parents in driving student success.

    Guests at the table:

Barbara Clements,  Consultant at ESP Solutions Group
Dan Ginsberg, VP Global Product Strategy at Pearson
Bill Meade, Data Science Director at Neal Analytics

Secure Your Big Data in the Cloud

    in Technology

As your big data initiative scales toward even bigger data, the odds are that the cloud will play a critical role in your strategy, whether for storage or as the home for your analytics applications. How can you trust the cloud to keep your data secure and to protect the privacy of your customers and partners?

Trust in the cloud has been growing as the concept has evolved, but cloud-based providers and your own organization can do more to ensure that the cloud is a secure environment for your data. Some of that work is being done by the Big Data Working Group of the Cloud Security Alliance.

Working group co-chair Wilco Van Ginkel, who is security strategist for Verizon Enterprise, joins All Analytics Radio to discuss the efforts to identify scalable techniques for data-centric security and privacy problems. The working group's goal is to crystallize best practices for security and privacy in big data, and to help industry and government organizations coordinate the development of big data security and privacy standards.

Van Ginkel will be available to address your questions and concerns and share his advice on building out a secure big data strategy in the cloud.

In this event you will learn:

About the progress that the cloud sector and its customers have made in building a secure environment
About some of the best practices for enterprises that the Cloud Security Alliance has already identified
What types of big data applications are ready for everyday life in the cloud
How security and privacy protections in the cloud environment may evolve in the year or so to come

Join the All Analytics community on Thursday, February 26, at 2 pm (ET), and bring your questions for Wilco Van Ginkel.
