Dr. Annie Kagan is a former New York City based chiropractor and singer/songwriter. In 1996, she left her hectic city life, and moved to a small house by the bay. While trying to figure out what to do with the next chapter of her life, her brother Billy died unexpectedly and began speaking to her about the afterlife. This profound experience took her on a journey that changed the way she thought about life, death, and the universe and resulted in her bestselling debut book “The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad Boy Brother Proved to Me There’s Life after Death,” (Hampton Roads). When she was sixteen, ANNIE KAGAN was signed by a producer from Columbia Records. After ten years of performing songs in New York City clubs, ANNIE returned to college and became a chiropractor with a private practice in Manhattan. Following a chance meeting with a spiritual teacher from the East, she began an intense meditation practice that eventually led her to leave her career as a doctor and her hectic city life in search of serenity. She moved to a small house by the bay on the tip of Long Island and returned to songwriting, collaborating with Grammy Award and Emmy award-winning producer Brian Keane. When her brother Billy died unexpectedly and began speaking to her from the afterlife, her future took a surprising turn. She recorded her conversations with Billy from the other side and published them in her debut book, The Afterlife Of Billy Fingers.
One of the most detailed and profound after death conversations ever recorded, KAGAN's booktakes the reader beyond the near death experience. Billy's real-time account of his ongoing journey through the mysteries of deth is filled with transcendent wisdom, irreverent humor and hope.

New Jerseyans will be asked to vote on an Open Space Trust Fund this Election Day - November 4th.
If approved, it will cost voters $150 billion annually to preserve space in NJ and will result in an amendment to our state Constitution.
While Open Space is a great concept, 30% of NJ is already preserved, with only 32% of the state developed.
Those facts aside, NJ was just voted as the worst state for taxes, residents deal with some of the highest property taxes in the country and we have unfunded pension liabilities.
How much more taxation can the residents of NJ take? Not much more because NJ also boasts one of the highest rates of residents fleeing the state due to over-taxation.
Joining us to discuss the Open Space Trust Fund is Daryn Iwicki, NJ State Director for Americans for Prosperity.
Thank you to Montville Executive Suites for advertising with Common Sense NJ!
No, our show is not on the first Monday in October (which is past anyway). The title of this episode refers to the traditional start of the Supreme Court season.
Tuesday night we will be talking about the Supreme Court and its decisions (and non-decisions) and their impact on our lives. For example, the court's decision not to listen to arguments on marriage equality has already sent ripple effects across the nation. A stealth decision early Saturday morning on the Texas voter ID law can have a chilling effect on voting rights in any and all states seeking to suppress citizens right to vote.
What do YOU think are the most important Supreme Court decisions?
Who is your favorite Justice? Do you even have a favorite Justice?
What effects will the upcoming mid-term elections and the 2016 presidential election have on the make-up of the Supreme Court?
Join us Tuesday for what should be an enjoyable and enlightening conversation about the Supreme Court.
CALL 347-850-8445 to join the conversation.
The official date for the 2014 election is less than two weeks away, but early voting in several states has already begun. That hasn't stopped the now-typical wrangling over voting rules in states governed by Republicans. Saturday morning we got a little October surprise from the Supreme Court, which upheld yet another discriminatory voter ID law designed to disenfranchise minority voters. That decision came with a little extra: a scathing dissent from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (joined by Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan). This election year has been a bumpy ride and it isn't over until it's over. The good news is that states that were written off by the MSM as an easy win for the Republicans are now neck and neck, with Democrats either tied with Republicans or just behind and within the margin of error. If only the polls could be trusted! MOMocrats Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss the 2014 midterm elections from a progressive point of view. Produced by Engender Media Group.
