Long before Oprah's OWN aired Bill Duke's movie about it, we did a show titled "The Intra-Racial Divide" and talked about it!
Light and Dark Skin has always been a bone of contention in the African American community and since there has been a lot of chatter about it recently, this week on Playing Devil's Advocate™, Ms. KiKi & the crew will discuss it...AGAIN! Tune in this week as we explore a different form of racism & discrimination then ask, "Are you really comfortable in own skin (color)?"
And if that's not enough we have our Producer's "Drink of the Week", and our weekly “Ask PDA” advice letter!! If you want to give your two cents....contact us on Facebook, Twitter, via email, or in our interactive chat room or LIVE on-air Wed night!

SK: What first got you interested in this line of work?MR: I struggled as a young girl with anxiety, feeling alone and isolated. I desired to learn the skills to connect at a deeper level. I wanted to learn to communicate my needs of feeling heard and “mattering” in the world. However, most importantly, I wanted to give back to my community; the very specific tools and skills that I had learned from my hard life experience. I have spent years in therapy and hundreds of thousands of dollars; however living with Christ in me provided me a strong foundation of faith and a daily practice of living in the moment which led to my recovery. Through my journey of self-discovery in my late thirties, a deep desire to advocate for the disadvantage and at-risk youth was developing, and I took a leap of faith, turning over my hidden skill-sets, and prayerfully considered my next step… God delivered to me and I transcribed the Girls in Power curriculum in written form in the summer of 2010 with the intention to launch a program, first for girls. My hope was to reach as many young women as possible, so they would not have to suffer in silence and live behind a mask, as long as I did.SK: Of all of that, what would you say is the most important, or the most prominent part of the job?MR: Getting the word out and generating sustainability---GIP needs funding in order to keep providing programs to youth and families. SK: Is there any part of your job that you especially love doing?MR: I love to teach young girls, teens, mothers and women.God has used my hurts for good and He has shown me how to package up the tools I have learned which have helped me live a more fulfilling life. God is using me, and through me He is letting me share these tools to help others heal, change their ways, change their hearts, cope and manage, develop a healthier mindset, and as well, contribute to society…creating sustainability all around…
Bad boys: They make you laugh, they make you cry, they make you crazy, but you can't get enough. Women say they want a good man, but often the nice guy is banished to the friend zone while the jerk gets the attention. Why do good girls love bad boys?? Joining the show to shed light on the subject are two of Hollywood's finest, actor/writer/director Gary Anthony Sturgis and guest co-host Jalene Mack. Gary played notorius bad boy characters in Tyler Perry's biggest hit films, "Diary of A Mad Black Woman" and "Daddy's Little Girls". He also co-starred opposite Terrence Howard in "Pride", as the charming yet sinister pimp/drug dealer Franklin Washington. Jalene is a top entertainment attorney, with an extensive celebrity client roster. She also manages to balance roles as a writer/actress/producer/wife and mother of two. Jalene is the Founder/Artistic Director of Mack Performing Arts Collective (MPAC), a performing arts nonprofit. Her recent project is co-writer and cast member of the comedy movie "The Great Divide" currently running on BET. Have you been choosing the bad boy claiming to want a good man? You won't want to miss this show! To submit show ideas, comment, or be considered as a featured guest, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
A BIBLICAL RESPONSE TO OPRAH'S "DARK GIRLS." LISTEN FOLKS, THE MOST HIGH MADE MANKIND FROM DUST (OR DIRT) AND HIS PLANET AND ANIMALS OF DARK MELANIN. SO, DARK SKIN IS THE PRIMARY SKIN HE CHOSE (NOT A SECOND THOUGHT). OUR PLANET ORIGINATED WITH VERY DARK DIRT PEOPLE. THIS VERY PLANET CAME OUT OF DARKNESS. THE SECRET QUESTION IS THOUGH WHO CHANGE THESE FACTS AND WHY DID THEY? MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHERE DID WHITE SKIN COME FROM?
LASTLY, REMEMBER ONLY REALLY DARK SKIN CAN PRODUCE ALL SKIN TONES. EVEN BROWN SKIN CAN'T PRODUCE BLUE BLACK SKIN, SO ACCORDING TO SCIENCE ORIGINALLY SKIN HAS TO HAVE BEEN VERY DARK (BLUE BLACK). THE RICHEST SOIL FARMERS SAY IS THAT BLUE BLACK SOIL (SEE PHOTO). IF FARMERS & SCIENTIST ARE SAYING THIS IS THE RICHEST WHY WOULD THE CREATOR MAKE HIS HUMANITY OF ANY OTHER HUE.
WARNING: HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON THE SHOW, PERIOD!! WHILE THIS IS IMPORTANT, WE ARE FAR MORE THAN OUR SKIN.
