March 4, 2015, 10pm (PST)- Zombies with DA Roberts

    in Paranormal

"They are called the living dead, undead, walking dead or any of dozens of other names. The Vikings called them the Draugr. Every culture has their own legends and tales of the dead that return to prey on the living. Whatever you choose to call them, they haunt your nightmares and even linger in your waking thoughts. They prey on your deepest fears. The darkest vision of life after death is to return to eat the living as an unstoppable, insatiable living corpse. Do you feel it in the dead of night when you lie beneath the covers, dreading the sound you just heard outside your window? Did you just hear the distinct shuffle of something moving in the grass, or the crunch of the gravel? Can you smell the decay lingering in the wind? Who hasn't let their thoughts stray into how the world would look if the zombies came? Where would you go? Could you survive? Could you bring yourself to fight the shambling corpse of someone you once loved?
    What would you do?"

Author/Speaker/Challenge Conqueror Michelle A. Roberts stops by Good Deeds

    in Motivation

Michelle A. Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia, is a fighter and a winner. She describes her impressive life change in this way: “After being married for 17 years, I finally awakened to the realization that my drug-addicted husband was not going to change. I had remained in the marriage—for too long—largely for two reasons. One was because I thought no one would want a fat girl with three babies. The other, deeper reason was because I was not raised with my father and always longed for that relationship, so I clung to the hope that my husband would be the man who would fill that void. He did not. In fact, he put our children and me through the maddening frustrations and disappointments that come with sharing life with an addict. I became so depressed I began carrying 268 pounds on a five-foot frame. Finally, however, I took charge of my life. I had life-altering surgery, gastric bypass, and lost more than 110 pounds. I got a divorce, began a lifestyle of fitness, went back to school, and obtained bachelors, masters and is currently a Doctoral Candidate. I opened several businesses and authored several books. Yes, the years of schooling and attitude change were hard. Yes, I cried. Yes, I complained sometimes. But whenever I felt on the verge of giving up, I had only to look at my three children, and a fight for dear life would arise in me.” Michelle A. Roberts, is a professional speaker & published Author she specializes in training and encouraging Women that they are overcomers, and can comeback from any challenge. Ms. Roberts is a member of the American Business Women’s Association, Airport Charter Chapter and National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Mecca Chapter.

    DA should prosecute legitimate crime

    in News

Coming up this morning... Former City Councilman Bruce Frohman

DA Birgit Fladager has millions of dollars to fight crime in Stanislaus County.

Three notable trials in the last decade are examples of how those dollars are used for prosecutorial abuse.

In all three trials the DA failed to get convictions because they selected the "victims" and then set their investigators out to create the crime.

Beating up your wife or significant other is a legitimate crime unless of course you are a member of the law enforcement team.

Ep 116: Author Julia Roberts on Sex, Lies, and Creativity

    in Books

Join Dr. Angela Lauria of The Author Incubator as the interviews author Julia Roberts on the publishing of her book, Sex, Lies, and Creativity, which is her third book. It's actually an easy-to-read version of her Masters research, stripped of its academic opacity and made to sing, as she put it, For Roberts, it's more important to move the reader than to create an unassailable argument in a labored defensive style of writing. "It just flowed," she said about the writing of the book. "I knew the material and was writing it for the reader."

The best thing to come out of having this book, according to Roberts, was being on Bestseller status ontwo different lists: Creativity & Genius and Women's Studies.

    DA Roberts~Author

    in Paranormal

DA (Doug) Roberts             D.A. Roberts author of Ragnarok Rising was born in the small town of Lebanon, Missouri. Growing up on the farm gave him plenty of opportunities to cultivate a fertile imagination. Encouraged by his mother, he dreamed of one day becoming a famous writer. An avid reader, D.A. enjoys reading more than watching television. A diverse career path has helped him create a unique view of the world. He’s worn the hats of a soldier, a factory worker, a bouncer, a lab technician, a Security Officer and most recently a Corrections Officer. He draws on all of these experiences to bring his writing to life on a very human level.  He married Annette in the summer of 1993 and has been happily married ever since. Their three teenage sons Nathan, Nic and Noah keep them both busy and are their pride and joy. They have an English Mastiff named Xander, who is a big part of their lives. D.A. loves to camp, hunt, fish, hike and Geocache. He also enjoys old-school pen and paper role-playing games. When not writing or on duty as a Corrections Officer, he enjoys spending time with his family. A good cup of coffee, a warm fire and a good book are his guilty pleasures. And yes...like his character Wylie Grant...a little Bushmills Irish, once and a while.
