In light of quite a few instances that have happened recently in our very tight-knit, little niche of the world, I was asked by several people to do a show on bully and cyber bullying. I want to discuss as it's based in our corner of the world. These are all incidents within our community so let's look at it as a community issue. Have you been bullied? Have you been cyber-bullied? Have you been made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome within our community? Have you been bullied or
Bullying has taken a different turn in recent years. At one time it was Teasing maybe sticking out your tongue at another child has turned into horrific degrading. Beatings, threats to kill, rape and more. Bullying has taken an Illegal turn.
Using the internet and social media to invade every portion of others life's bullying has resulted in children committing suicide.
Bullying is not just a Youth Issue. Adults are more and more often participating and committing severe acts of bullying much like there younger counter parts.
How do we deal with Bullying with out becoming the Bully? How do we help our children and ourselves?
Tonight we have Peggy and Darliene Howell from NAAFA to speak about Bullying and discuss the Anti-Bullying Campaign and Packet made available through NAAFA.org
In this one we'll go over the verses I kicked on Amaculan's Bad Lad album.
The first one being from a track called the baddest, where Amaculan and I continued our cypher from my track called "Silver Chucks" on the previous album we covered. It's fairly hardcore... actually pretty darn hard core and that's why I just cut the hook/chorus out of this podcast.
The second one is from "Self Assassanition". This is a not-so-sad suicide song. The idea was to talk about auto-euthanasia without having this "Woe Is Me" vibe about it.
The third and final track from this whole era of my involvment with establishing our name locally and letting folks on our hip hop scene know that our crew was here and serious is called "NO GAMES".... This was probably the most irresponsible desctructive thing I've ever done behind a microphone.
I did not write this track. I just freestyled (improved) the whole thing, from the verse, to the hook, to the adlibs, to even the background falsetto singing and humming.
It's what and who I talk about and the context with which I talk about these folks that made this track a horrible decision to put on an album and put out in the streets.
From here we'll start hearing my tracks I did between the ages of 19 and 21. Most of which didn't go on albums, but on mixtapes, compilations, and sold as singles.
For the rest of this show, I'll do some reading and commenting on another part of rape culture that I didn't know exists and it makes me rethink my position on this thing called cyber bullying.
It's a mish-mash of topics today. Cyber-Bullying, Binge drinking and young ladies, Jobs and Obama care! tune in and get informed Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately? There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective. Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting. But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree! If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
