How Do I Stop The Negativity From Running Around My Head?

    in Spirituality

It happens all the time, images in black and white or full Technicolor surge to the forefront of your mind making you feel like screaming, crying and curling up into a tiny ball. Words, sounds, the memory of smells, the visceral feelings that you felt, the knowing within your scope of understanding that you know, the visions of past events that you’d rather keep buried or locked in the recesses of your mind.  New and old hurts that you’ve dissected and then catalogued for some sort of future reference…if needed.   The problem is, these catalogued events seem to magically escape the mental lock and key and surge to the forefront of your mind replaying like a horror movie starring you.  This is what I call going down into the rabbit hole of Alice’s wonder-land.

I wonder if I said this or I wonder if I did that.  These innocent questions start a chain reaction that compound.  And before you know it, somehow you’ve slipped and the perceived negativity that has happened in the past now runs rampant around your head unchecked, growing in power.  And as a result it becomes the focal point in your mind.  Your perceived negativity can be all consuming, yet it carries within it the answers that you are seeking.  The true understanding that you are wanting, and ironically, the magic you need to move you forward.
Join me, Dr Wendy Dearborne choice expert and Olivia Lashley expression coach as we look at the negativity and the benefits that it brings.

Keeping the Foundation Strong and Healthy

    in Spirituality

Bio: My name is Dwayne Martin and I started fitness as a younger child. I was always skinny and hated it so I wanted to make a change to my body. I believed that if I would start lifting that I would get bigger but I also believed that if I lift weights at such a young age that it would stunt my growth therefore I felt I came up with the perfect solution. I started curling the older model lego boxes with the handles and as I progressed I'd put more and more legos in the box. I would also do sit-ups to the point I would challenge my older brother to see who could do the most without resting. As I got older I replaced the lego boxes with 5 pound dumbells and would watch tv while curling the dumbells. I wouldnt counts reps or sets, I would just keep curling until I felt like I couldnt curl the dumbells anymore.

. When I was working out I favored benching so I would lift 2-3 times a day and add atleast 10 pounds a week of additional weight when I bench. I progressed rather quickly until I injured myself due to eccessive lifting but that didn't stop me. I applied pressure to the injury to give support and continued on. I later came to the decision of joining the Army which put my whole lifting career on hold,

. The workouts I performed in the gym became a stress reliever for me so though things were falling apart with my personal life, I found strength though it all and turned my negatives into positives. I then discovered an interest I have in Physique Competitions. I made a promise to myself that I woiuld enter in a competition so after 7 months of working out overseas I gained 33 pounds of muscle then upon arriving home I cut down 13 pounds. When I got home my personal life fell apart but that only drove me to strive even more with my fitness goals as well as shed light on what I want to do as a career and that is to do for others

The Romance Bookmark with Renee Bernard presents: Suzan Tisdale

    in Books

Love, laughter and books always have a place at The Romance Bookmark and this week, I'm happy to say, I have a comfy chair ready for none other than Suzan Tisdale, self-proclaimed Storyteller, Author and Cheeky Wench.  www.suzantisdale.com  And I'm not too humble to admit that she had me at Cheeky...but the Wench thing pretty much sealed her fate as my new favorite and top of the TBR pile!  I'm not sure why Scottish romances are just curling my happy toes these days... (It could be the kilts but I keep telling myself that it has to to do with the lovely scenery and my admiration for cultural frugality and self-reliance.  I'm a terrible liar.)  Come pull up a chair of your own and meet Suzan Tisdale! And then get ready to hit that "Buy" button, dear friends, because you'll want to load up on her wonderful series...

Hollywood Legends: Up Close and Personal

    in Movies

Joan Kramer and David Heeley drop by to discuss In the Company of Legends, their behind-the-scenes book about the marvelous movie star documentaries they've worked on together. Starting with their award-winning profiles of Fred Astaire in 1980, Kramer and Heeley produced film portraits of the lives and careers of many Hollywood legends including Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Judy Garland and Humphrey Bogart, This dynamic duo established a reputation for finding the un-findable, persuading the reluctant, and maintaining unique relationships long after the end credits rolled. This interview is a must-hear for true movie addicts everywhere!

Robert Osborne, host of Turner Classic Movies, calls In the Company of Legends one of the best reasons ever for curling up with a book, and talk show host Dick Cavett says the Kramer/Heeley memoir was so hard to put down that he ate with one hand while reading it. Osborne goes on to praise the book because it’s about dazzling personalities told by people who actually knew the celebrities they write about, worked with them and, further, socialized with them, aware of their foibles and strengths from first-hand knowledge, not hearsay.

Among the Kramer and Heeley documentaries are: Katharine Hepburn: All About Me; Bacall on Bogart; The John Garfield Story; The Adventures of Errol Flynn; The Spencer Tracey Legacy; James Stewart: A Wonderful Life; Fonda on Fonda; Fred Astaire: Puttin’ on His Top Hat; Fred Astaire: Change Partners and Dance.

What is pushing Christians youth into arms of Islam?

    in Politics Conservative

This show is not meant to shame or embarrass Christian leaders or their ministries, it is meant to move them from their lukewarm waters which are destroying God's people and the rest of the world. The originator of this list went through his time in which he ignorantly terrorized many people with the hideous and evil teaching. For years, ministries have terrorized family, friends and anyone who would listen. We do not teach love and forgiveness just you will burn in hell forever…

What is your concept of God? What is your concept of Jesus?

“Vomit alone in my apartment, certain I was elected for damnation by a cruel God who would laugh at me hysterically while I was ripped apart, eaten, fried, raped, and in every other imaginable way, tortured in hell”? He writes further, “I had long seriously considered killing myself in order to get out from under the emotional oppression and desperation of thoughts of my own damnation. The fear drove me to the point of complete insanity. I blew a solid three years of my youth (21-23) continuously contemplating my damnation and meanwhile lost friends, burdened family members, and drove my girlfriend away. I have yet to regain even a slight measure of what I lost. I was downing antidepressants and curling up in fetal position most nights bawling and praying that God would have mercy on me and unhardened my heart so that I might actually be granted faith in Him, instead of Him willing me into reprobation and, therefore, everlasting, merciless torment and pure insanity in hell.

Is this why Youth is leaving?

According to the young man who wrote the above, it was ministers preaching a God of love who brought him to the state of wanting to die. Even now my walk with God is weak."
