At this juncture, the fugitives verily believing that the time had arrived for the practical use of their pistols and dirks, pulled them out of their concealment—the young women as well as the young men—and declared they would not be "taken!" One of the white men raised his gun, pointing the muzzle directly towards one of the young women, with the threat that he would "shoot," etc. "Shoot! shoot!! shoot!!!" she exclaimed,

Tonight Vince is joined by Bay Area based journalist Matthew Keys. We will discuss several stories which have developed locally over the past few weeks. Matthew covered the accidental deaths of two BART maintenence workers during the recent workers strike. He has also covered the recent incident in Roseville where a parolee engaged in a shootout with police. Matthew has also mixed it up on Twitter with local news outlets about their news coverage, at one point getting blocked by KTVU's account for complaining about not being credited as a source. Also, we will celebrate the life of Lou Reed by playing his music. This and more, plus your calls!!
The Dallas Cowboys have a two game winning streak and there is a lot of talk about stacking wind together, and it's time to prove it this week in Detroit.
Dustin Copening, Darren Boyd and Jeff Bowers are here to reveal all of the intricacies of Sunday's matchup in Motown, but before they do they take a look at Dallas' impending trip to jolly old England.
Next, the guys discuss last week's road win in Philly. Was the win a result of a stellar defensive effort at the Linc, or was it the outcome of poor quarterback play from the Eagles? Dustin, Darren, and Jeff break it down.
In the "Coach's Slant" Jeff Bowers brings out his chalkboard live and in person, while Jason Garrett, Jim Schwartz and Jerry Jones wax poetic on a variety of factors in what is being billed as a shootout.
The Inside The Numbers segment takes a bit of a different twist this week, as after Bowers puts away his calculator, the guys put a new spin on the Dez vs. Megatron talk from earlier this week.
No one from the Sports Narrative crew picked the Cowboys to win in Week 7. Who has the guts to predict a Dallas upset? Not Mr. Bowers, right???
Finally, the gang peeks into each NFC East matchup, and other games that interest them, and hopefully you too.
Tune in, call in, and send your feedback to @dfwfanconnect, @sportsnarrative, and @DarrenBoyd13
The October 19, 2013, episode of American Heroes Radio features a conversation with law enforcement professional Jeanne Assam the author of God, the Gunman and Me.
About the Guest Jeanne Assam “is the police officer who shot and killed gunman Matthew Murray who entered new life church on Dec. 9, 2007 after he had shot 4 people in Arvada, killing 2, and wounding 2 others. Later that same day, Murray drove to new life church in Colorado Springs where he and Jeanne engaged in a shootout inside the church after Murray shot 4 more people, killing 2 sisters in the parking lot. Her background includes several years as a patrol officer with the Minneapolis Police Department, Criminal Investigator for the State of Colorado, and as a Parole Officer for the Colorado Department of Corrections.” Jeanne Assam is the author of God, the Gunman & Me.
According to the book description of God, the Gunman & Me, “In God, the Gunman and Me, Jeanne Assam recounts the actual events that occurred on that ill-fated day in early December, 2007, when a gunman came into a 10,000 member church in Colorado Springs, CO, firing a high-powered rifle. Interwoven throughout her account are glimpses of two pasts that echo the same depression, longing, and brokenness. Two people with remarkably different stories met for the first time in church. At that holy intersection, they pointed their guns at each other. Similar stories. Different endings.”

Weekly we address PANDEMICS that have infiltrated the land!
There are ongoing, continuous, rapid successions of pandemics across this land! Where is America headed?!!!
As we see the first government shutdown in seventeen years, affecting millions of workers, who could ill afford to be without jobs at this crucial time. The Health care that so MILLIONS of indigent citizens ( mostly minority), and the poorest of the poor, were so looking forward to finally having, is found to be elusive. The "HAVES" are dehumanizing the "HAVE NOTS", and make no apology about doing it. African American males are being suspended from the school sytems, and subsequently stripped of future, including voting rights. A recession worse than the not so long ago one could be looming, and TODAY , it appears a WOMAN died as she tried to ram one of the gates at the White House.
Joe Lomax recaps the wins and losses for this past weekend in NCAA and NFL action. Tough breaks, close calls and a preview of the coming games on Thursday night. A look back on the brutal ending to the Ohio State vs Northwestern game and the epic shootout in the NFL between the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys. A look into how the weekend ended up and a look ahead to see where the public has its money for the Thursday night games. A must listen for every sports bettor.
